Nice find. I copied Beastlord information at New spells on lucy (http://beastlords.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=487)
I hope this list isnt final. Two slows and another cold nuke seems a bit well... lackluster for an expansio.
I'm happy to see us get a new nuke, and the new slow with the negative resist modifier isn't bad either. I would have expected more, though, I guess (although I'm not sure what)
Looking at the slow spells - I suspect that they are limited to certain targets only - lets call them 'creatures of discord' and will have the advantage of a small resist modifier over our other slows.
What it means is, if I am slowing in the LDoN type zones in the expansion, is I will have 65 slow and the new 55 slow loaded - through the 65 - and if it fails, throw the 55, then try overwrite with the 65 on refresh.
The other thought that came to my mind was that the new slow would be less or un mitigatable - but I dont believe this will be the case.
HMMM I have not been resisted much on my 65 slow (maybe I am just lucky all the time) but then again I dont do THAT much planes hopping. Is the resist modifier THAT big a deal to be worthy of being an expansion spells? I guess the slow in the middle is a nice addition for those who need and I guess the addition of the 55 slow will lower the price of the 65 slow (which I don't mind even though I paid 25k for it). I was hoping for something, I don't know, a little more meaty...
The nuke is lovely, but im really not over the moon to get a slower more mana, lesser slow but only slightly less resistant slow.
I can't really see it having alot of application outside of raids inwhich you absolutely can not have agro at any costs or on raids/groups in which you have an exceedingly hard to slow mob (think some of the bot names). Normally through play time you get to know which mobs are easy and which are not. I guess it really depends greatly on how much of an effect the neg 30 will have.
My yak proc has neg 25 and whilst its not resisted that often, it can and has been resisted on mobs that I have not had problems slowing.
Only time will tell. I do however hope there are more than 3 spells. Another dot and some form of group buff would be lovely.
I see it as a way for a person that has no ability to attend the killing of a MoB that drops a rune, nor has the money to purchase the spell from the bazaar to get a slight upgrade to the level 60 slow. I doubt it will be MoB restricted as suggested..just seems rather odd and I can't think of anything else that is content only restricted. If the price is right, I will purchase it just to have a complete spell book but unless it has some hidden uberness I will probably never use it.
I think that it is interesting that the Shamans are also getting 2 new slows that are also below their current benchmark.
Perhaps their normal slows will be resisted on the GoD mobs as well.

I think all shammies would be very happy to have a 70% disease based slow.
NOTE: I edited this post - I've checked lucy, and those 2 new shammy slows are magic only atm, not disease as I first thought.
I haven't seen word of it elsewhere, but FYI:

No change to the nuke yet.
Group Infusion! /die
yeah, I'm digging both of these spells, BIGTIME.
Granted, Ukun Blood is only 116 more dmg than Scorp Blood, for 30 something more mana, but still, to be able to stick 2 dots that are 1000+ dmg, not even counting dot enhancing focii, is really spiffy....hello aggro!
AWESOME!
This makes me a veeeery happy leezard!
Let us hope that they remain that way!
:D
Hhmmm...
...how much more feasible does this make the new pet-root AA, I wonder.
Rather than FoL kiting, root-dotting and nuking even, since the pet will be proc'ing root a lot, one would think anyway.
If pet has enough aggro, /pet hold (with focus item) and let pets regen fight the beating it's taking. Root breaks, /pet attack. Rinse, repeat.
Any thoughts? I don't know if it would work or not...
Thanks Emrysx, lately ive been acting shaman and that group buff would be a blessing.
now just to get my 65 slow and im set :)
I need to look into this pet hold/regen thing. That's the second time I've heard of it.
So you mean if your pet is tanking, you can say pet hold and it will be able to actually gain health (focused) while it's getting beat on? That seems a bit too good to be true, and I wouldn't think it'd be as intended.
Pet root is gonna rock! Pet will root mob, quad it, and poof, no mo root! Nice idea in theory, t3h suck in application.
Looks good so far but I hope there's more. Personally, I'd like to see a new pet proc buff. Something like:
Spirit of <insert GoD-related name here>
Decrease Hitpoints by 165
Increase Hate by 50 (does this really do anything?)
Stun 2.75 sec
Resist: Poison or Disease
Restist Adj -10
Don't see it as being too handy.
Mainly because the root is a proc with a very short duration. The odds of keeping that mob rooted while you're rotting it seem very slim.
In my personal opinion, the root proc is more worthless than Hobble...which isn't saying much.
Have to agree. I never bought Hobble and I likely won't buy the new pet proc root.
However...
New dot, new nuke and Group IOS? Hell yes.
New damage is always good so I really like that.
Not real sure how good a root rot strat would be but being able to stack another dot before you engage a mob is never a bad thing. Lets hope there are even more spells that we havent seen, but the addition of these two spells is a defenate plus, most have been asking for group infusion and they appear to be giving it to us. Getting what you want is a good thing. :D
Any word yet on how we will acquire the new spells? Wondering if they will be dropped, vendor sold, quested, or turn in type like with PoP. Just curious if i will be needing to save a ton of money for the new 65 spells if they will be dropped only :(
Surash Shadowclaw
65 Beastlord
For a new pet proc, I'd like to see an unresistable mana drain. Root as an AA proc is just silly.
-Kryq
If by mana drain you mean mana tap, than I am all for that idea.
Woah! Pet procing mana sieve would be very nice idea imo!
-raz
Group IoS would be fantastic. I imagine quite a few more groups will be asking for that, even if there is a shaman, because of the added stamina. We'll end up casting that, and the shaman will stack wrulan, boar, and daiku on it. Stat sweetness.
As for the nuke... my question is what will the reuse time be? I would love a nice high-dmg nuke with low reuse time like blizzard blast. The 30-sec wait on frost spear gets old.
I think for the dot it's sort of moot. Maybe good for soloing... but when I'm in LDoN the only reason I cast a DoT at all is if I'm tanking / offtanking and need aggro. Otherwise the mobs are dying too fast for it to really be efficient. I think maybe a different spin on our dots would be cool... like maybe a mini-bane type DoT that did 225/tic or something. =)

Group IOS is fine..
1) It's better than being a downgrade to one of the other 2 spells we get
2) It might create a desire for the spell (casters/clreics etc. usually like it, because most of the time they dont want focus--now they can get it free, like it, and dont have to ask for it)
3) It's in line with what we should get for our 3rd spell... they DONT want us to gain too much power in this expansion.. and if people sit down and look at how you can now stack 2 DoT's and almost double your 'efficent DPS by spell' now, you'd see it's nice.... ~50DPS by DoT damage if you stack these 2... it kicks the boxers off the old ~30 DPS you could do if you did scorpion + snake, it's also more efficent, and less likely to fizzle than the shaman DoT we share
4) This is the wrong forum
