The other day grinding away in MPG 5 runes dropped. I got the lowest role in the group on every single one of them! Somebody out there hates me.
You must be talking about the 69-70 no-drop runes. If i'm in a group, we wait till someone leaves or we have 6 items before anyone rolls. But yea, my dice suck too.
Just all luck of the draw with their formula they use. I wouldn't join a MPG group that let people win multiples before everyone else got one personally.
Interesting to note that on the EQ2 forums there's a post that shows parses of the RNG.
Alot of groups in EQ2 pick a number from 1-6 and then do rand 1-6.
The parse of >900 rands shows that in rand 1-20, the frequency of hitting 1 or 20 is 50% that of any other number, which is a very clear bug in their implementation probably to do with how they've wrapped a core library.
This is the type of code that gets reused, it may be the same in EQ1.
I think most of the analysis done on the RNG so far has been looking at streakiness and patterns, I wonder if anyone has done the simple frequency check on it.
