Hey guys just did a MM in Icewell last night and won some aug that I turned into Duggan and he gave me back some aug. Now I was told it winds up turnin into a pretty decent aug, 14ac 7 to all stats and svs 70/70/70 with like 5 regen and 15 avoidance. Now askin cause atm its only like 2ac with some crappy stats. Heard I gotta do 2 more MMs from the same guy and it charges up to full can anyone verify this or give me some info on the quest if they have done it cause I did a search on alla and its vague at best and doesnt really give any good info  :?

I have read similar things but have yet to do any PoR MMs =(. What I am not sure of is you just need to do the next MMs or have to win the chest drop or whatever.

I believe you do the next two missions and (at least on the third one) a single seal drops, so only one person can upgrade per MM.  Turn in the seal with your old aug and you get the fully powered one.

where is the npc that starts the icewell MM ?? inside icewell or in a por zone?

and the other 2 any idea ?

The npc is in icewell: Dain's historian Duggins

You get a seal of coldain history from each of his 3 missions and turn them in.

Aug has 70/70/70, 14 ac, 7 to some stats, 7 regen, 15 avoid, 7 to resists

I've been having trouble using the 4-box Dain 3 method. The first three waves go well, but the clerics get summoned as soon as they start casting on the 4th wave.

Does anyone have ideas on how to position them for the 4th wave so they don't get summoned and splatted right away?

Sariss Bloodscale

Dunno.  When I did it, I was the tank and had 2 clerics healing me.  When Warlord came near enough to our mass of coldain, a cleric'd toss a HoT on me and I'd go aggro everything and try to keep the warlord turned away from the majority of my army so they wouldn't eat enrage.  After I engaged clerics pretty much just chain CH'd me, but they didn't get summoned that I recall.

Dain, or other tank, needs to be the last one to zone into the MM, ie top of the hate list.

the warlord has a huge summon range. he can summon the dain standing at the general all the way to the base camp.

me and a friend do this with a group of 4 and have won 4 times. always use dain, 2 clerics, 1 war. whoever uses dain just stands at general and gives the attack commands. at the last wave we hide the dain in the waterfall.

I've always had warrior pull all waves (EW zoneline) soon as they pop so the shaman mobs dont have time to SoW or haste. war pulls it right to base camp and all the coldain engage.

never ran into any problems with clerics getting summoned unless the war dies. then things get messy, especially on the warlord since he can summon at such great distances.

the stats at just having dain the 3rd done are: 9 AC 4 to stats/resists 45 hp/mana/end 4 regen 9 avoidance. I have yet to go back and do the other missions with 4 people. we usually get to the end of those and then wipe on something stupid.

I found the best way to do this is to get the army to engage first. That way you dont get wiped, or nearly so by all the giants hitting you at once.

Everything I have read here is correct, however it seems SOE upped the difficulty range on these MM's.  Haven't been able to complete any since the 13th patch.  I don't know anyone that has been able to either. :x So much for getting the aug.  And it's not like you have that many variables to play with as the coldain either.
My cleric has the full aug, but I wanted to wait till my bst got to 61 to start these.  No sense in doing more than I already do.  :-P

People in my guild have done all three several times since the patch and finished them so it is doable.

Taiglin

Do they use a particular strat on the 3rd mission? I actually tried this for the first time last night with a group full of people who had similarly never done it. Needless to say it was a cluster.

My bad. He's only done the first one since this last patch. He hasn't tried #3 out yet.

Skanda

Looks like everyone is probably SoL on getting #3 "fixed".

Looks like there's a few tips in that thread though.
