Duration question

Does the slow effect of the epic proc wear off when the DoT does? 2 mins seems short for any slow.

Yeah 2 min duration.  Most mobs die in 1-2 mins and if you have weapon on it will keep refreshing itself so really not much of an issue.

Epic procs frequently, so like Tastian said don't worry about it.
