Check out this thread: http://www.beastlords.org/forums/index.php?topic=4866.0

The spell is a new spell for the upcoming Dragons of Norrath expansion.  It's not live yet, so there's no rune to turn it for it or anything.

On our guild message boards, one of our SKs posted a thread stating that the new 69 (and the lower version lvl 61) spell is obtained by the new mission system. With each completed mission, you get some type of shard/crystal that you collect, and then can turn in for gear/augs/spells. Sounds awesome, especially in some of the augs available. Also, it looks like the shards/crystals will be able to be traded, which will make for some interesting economics again.

From what I've heard... the 69 spell is only available from doing a 24 player DoN progression mission, and only 6 of them drop during it. They're universal, so it doesn't matter if the mission was good or evil faction.

The spell doesn't drop from the raid tho, it is given to you after you do the handin to the camp-specific commander -- you receive your AA and the spell at the same time :)

this part: Increase Hitpoints v2 by 150 per tick, almost sounds like a group spell effect?

It's not a group heal effect.

Just like to add that in my opinion, this spell is amazingly useful, especially when soloing. Cast it just before you pull, and add 1500 to your max HP, a heal over time (for 1500 total), plus a damage modifier to you AND your pet, all for 650 mana (not that much more than it costs for 1500 HP worth of heals). I use this in Thundercrest and The Ascent, most of the time I don't even have to heal due to the HP regen...a really great spell, although its slightly annoying having to recast it every 1 minute. Glad we finally have something to do with all our mana...

What's the casting time on this spell?  It occurs to me that SOE might have found a clever way to address our pet heal problem and benefit us at the same time.  Also I heard a rumor that it costs a regent though I havn'et seen it mentioned yet. That true?

This still shows pet only spell, which is what threw me off last big argument.

See where it says "Autocast: Growl of the Panther" -- click that link on the Lucy page and it shows you the information for the component that is cast on the player, which is:

Growl of the Panther  Detail | History | Stacking | Raw Data

Slot Description
1:  Increase All Skills Damage Modifier by 20%
6:  Increase Hitpoints v2 by 150 per tick
7:  Increase Max Hitpoints by 1500

Mana: 0 Casting Time: 0
Recast Time: 0 Fizzle Time: 0
Range: 100 Location: Any
Time of Day: Any Interruptable: Yes
Short Buff Box: No Target Type: Self
Spell Type: Beneficial Category: Atk Buff

Cast on you: You snarl with feral fury.
Cast on other: Someone snarls with feral fury.

What you cast is a pet buff. The pet then casts a buff on you. Both have the same name and same effects.

Has this spell replaced dots in your xp lineup?  It has mine and I never expected it too.  the hot it gives is a good bonus plus unlike our dots I never get resisted on GotP.  Also it seems its even more dps than letting chimera blood run its course.  Are there any other classes that has a dmg bonus ability at their fingertips like this?

Lets bump a long dead topic.... I just got Growl of the Leopard last night. I noticed no one responded to the gentlemen's question above, which is, has this replaced DoT's in your lineup? (If you even use DoT's, which I know many people don't).

This still seems like a valuable spell, even if only a situational one.

lol.. actually it replaced pet haste in mine ;p But that was also back when the pet haste took almost a minute for the spell gem to refresh upon casting.

I use it as my 3rd sorta continuous disc (yeah, i know the dps output compared to the real disc & BA is pathetic, but it's something) and keep it up at all times, except when buffing the pet

Dots were always situational tools for me. Almost never used in raids (mobs dont live long enough) and only sometimes solo. Loading extra nukes is my usual route (of course, I do remember the days when I didn't have enough nuke spells).

Growl replaced fero's for me. Used to be I would constantly fero 2-3 people besides myself in raids. Now I usually just do myself, and other people situationally (range fights, mainly). But remember, I'm in a max-mana situation a lot....max FT gear, max FT aa's, enc C, bard C, druid skin is typical. And sometimes a necro mind-wracking.

I'll respond, as I've been using GotP for a little while now myself. Personally it took one of my older slots, as I have 9. my spell lineup in combat is variable based partly on my role in the group, and the situation. Atm I use in this order: GotP, Mikkily, Muada's, Incapacitate, Sha's Revenge, Chimera, Scorpion Venom, Frost Spear, and typically when I'm expecting to have to steal agro fast Flash of light, or if I'm not expecting to steal agro a lot, Venom of Snake. I use my dots a lot in most situations, far more than nukes to make sure I"m high on the agro list all the time. When I can't use dot's I keep them up because somewhere in the zone there's always a dotable mob lol

Growl replaced Chim blood for me way back when.  I use it virtually all the time on burn mobs and when soloing, virtually never on trash/groups.  I never dot anymore due to the ridiculously poor landing percentage.  I had that clicky Festering Malady BP and tried that about 50 times on various mobs, finally destroyed it after seeing it land about 10% of the time.

Now I keep up 3 nukes, heal, pet heal, SA, Growl, BE, and Fero when raiding.  In groups I replace Fero and a nuke with 2 slows.

tigrah, I'm assuming you're talking abt staying high on the agro list on raid mobs.  My observations from too much dying before DoD pet:  If you pop out 3 nukes as fast as they come up, in addition to our low delay, decent ratio weapons, you should be just abt 2nd or 3rd on agro list.  All too often, if we lost a tank, it was me next on the agro list.. not the rogues, not the wizards.. me.  Now (/hug DoD pet) i'm below some rangers ;p

sorry kan, I don't mean in raids... in raids I still don't consider myself to be powerful enough to try and survive agro. I attempt to be as high as possible on agro list in regular groups/missions.

I have it perma memmed but find I rarely use it. Usually remember to pop it on a named fight maybe but am usually either 2 or 3 boxing so it becomes one more button to push. To add some context: over the last few months I am either in a guild group where I am not tanking or have been leveling toons on my other accounts in places that don't push the envelope as far as what I am doing. In the later I gives my cleric something to do.
