Hope Diamonds

Has anyone seen one of these for sale in the Bazaar?

I've been doing the Collector Quests in PoK for the Focus items. I was able to buy all the items for the Ring which is Mana Preservation II. For quite a while now I've been trying to find a Hope Diamond to complete the face item which is Improved Healing II.

I have logged onto 3 different servers at various times and haven't seen one yet. They are supposed to drop off a Stonegrabber in DSP.

They do drop in DSP.  I had one for a long time didn't know what it was for so I destroyed it while making bank space.  IIRC it dropped of a named stonegrabber there.  Was  in a group killing stongrabbers there and ocassionally a named one would pop between all the regular spawns.  Been a long time since I had it but that's what I remember.  Feel fee to correct this if my memory is fading in my old age.

Thats what I read. Its an ap......tic Stonehopper that drops them. According to the comments about the quest, the components were easily purchsed in th Bazaar. I'm doing it for all 3 characters (31 Bst, 24 Dru and 22 Pally) and have spent over 500pp to get the other parts. I will keep watching the Bazaar..

btw do they look like a regular diamond. I went through just about all the vendors in the Library in PoK but couldn't locate one..

Stonegrabber.  Named is the Otimistic stonegrabber.  Is about as common as all  the other named grabbers.  If you are mid 40s up, it should be possible to keep the 9 or so grabber spawns cleared.  I'd guess at getting one of these every 8 hour day of clearing.

I might be wrong, but the Hope Diamond looks like a sapphire, I think.

I stand corrected on the name. Must have killed to many greyhoppers in MS... :)

I'll just keep checking the bazaar and the vendors in PoK. I'm only lvl 31 and not guilded so it will be a while till I can take them out.

I logged onto 5 different servers last night and there wasn't one for sale in the Bazaar. I mined every spell vendor in the Library, but nothing to be had. I got a few nice tradeskill items to resell in the Bazaar though..

I have only ever seen one in the bazaar and that was from me either auctioning for it or it was being auctioned - can't remember. I think the problem is people aren't appt to fight the grabbers for xp. Want to say 2 years ago before the monk mitigation thing I had trouble soloing them at 50ish. Hazy memory. Folks are usually in the area, but killing the hoppers or targetting the zelniks.

I spent part of 51 on grabbers in Dawnshroud.  I would have done hoppers, but would get camp stealed by higher levels farming.

At 51 you can kill all three set of spawns easily, but exp isn't that great.  Going back to the Taskmaster room in Echo was much, much faster.

I still haven't seen one. The "Hope" line of gems are all lore as I found out last night. I was trying to make a Fine Antique Veil (Improved Healing II) which is a collector quest in PoK for my Bst, Druid and Pally. I've already spent 750p getting the other 3 parts that are required for the quest. I'm going to sell them on my mule to recoup some of the pp and look for something else. It's odd (well maybe not) that EQ would make a mid-level item so darn hard to complete considering I was able to get the components for the ring (In my Magelo) in about 10 days of searching the Bazaar/vendor mining !!

Well, Bazaar farming doesn't exacty have anything to do with the difficulty of the quest.  I personally have a hope diamond sitting in my bank.  I have for about the last 6 months or so.  I got it while soloing the grabbers on my beastlord at level 49 to about 51 or so.
