Here's just another thing to throw into the mix: From everything I've ever read, you can't have two
spell's with same effect stack, will not necessarily overwrite, but you will only get the effect from
the higher spell effect. Notice that the 68 pet haste spell,"Growl of the Beast", has the same effect as the 2 new DoN Beastlord spells:
i.e Increase All Skills Damage Modifier by X%.
With this assumption, I'd think we'd only be getting, "at best", +10% for Leopard, and +15% increase from what we would see with just "Growl of the Beast" haste spell? checked Lucy Stacking page on both "Growl of the Beast", and "Growl pf the Panther" and stacking effect pages are not shown as having a stacking issue with each other. "Leopard and Panther corrrectly showing stacking issues". What am I missing?

Growl of the Beast:
2: Increase All Skills Damage Modifier by 5%

Growl of the Leopard:
1: Increase All Skills Damage Modifier by 15%

Growl pf the Panther:
1: Increase All Skills Damage Modifier by 20%

Using Dancolen's results with the 68 level pet:
( not looking at the increase of different focuses, but only on the effect of "Growl of the Beast" vs. no GotB:
Note also checked spell listing for "recommend level", none stated, so this should not be where it would not show full effect until level 70 pet).

86 max hit
89 max hit with GotB       89/86 = 3% increase, should be 5%?

SB Focus
87 max hit
90 max hit with GotB       90/87 = 3% increase, should be 5%?

MoD Focus
91 max hit
94 max hit with GotB       94/91  = 3% increase, should be 5%?

Why only +3%?

Using Fangolor results:
Max hit 108
Max hit with panther 120

This only comes out to be 11% increase for panther?? Should be 20%,
or 15%  ( 20% minus 5% if stacking is issue with GotB)?
Note: doesn't say if either or both are  also with GotB.

Looking at just the 68 pet, appears wtih SB "DPoC" a 1% increase in max hit, and MoD a 4% ncrease in max hit, from the base unfocused pet; far from the advertised:  SB "DPoC" Pet Power Increase(15), and MoD Pet Power Increase(20)

Using Dpoc, on 68 pet, I can notice a modest increase in the base HP of pet, and regen still seems good, however Max hit increase makes very little sense... i.e. +1HP or +1% "rounded". ( I have actual parses for 68 pet HP at home, will try to remember to post these later tonight ).

Remember reading a thread somewhere by Tastian saying he's sent some parse results on our focus items to Dev's: Certainly hope something gets done here with our focus items SOON, they just don't appear to be working as advertised. Pet's and our Pet Focus items are to Beastlords, and major part of our DPS, and integral to our class. Appears there is either some unintended bug(s) in the way the focus items are currently working, and some issues with all 3 of the Growl line of spells.. "yeah I know there no such thing as an intentional bug".

Are the other 2 pet classes, Mages, & necros seeing the same issues with thier focus items, being that they have the same names for thier focus effects, if not on the same items? If they are might be an opportunity for all 3 pet classes to put some pressure on SOE, at the same time.

Mahes

That's interesting and I'm not really sure what to make of it.  Perhaps our understanding of what a "damage modifier" does is incorrect.  I had always assumed it increased your max hit by x% as well.

As for the stacking....it will only take the highest % and apply it in that sense of "stacking."  In the sense of the spells themselves stacking, you're talking about spells overwriting each other or bouncing off each other.  If they were both the same slot for the dmg modifier, than in theory you could only use one spell because the other wouldn't stick.  If that makes sense.  Like Growl of the Panther would Overwrite Growl of the Beast when you cast it, effectively removing your pet's haste.  It's more or less two different definitions of stacking.

Back to the other issue...does anyone have a different definiton of what a damage modifier is?  I could see a small difference in what we think the max hit would be and what it actually is if the spells were basing themselves off an unfocused pet instead of whatever level of focus the pet is currently at, or maybe taking into account decimals, but that much of a difference doesn't make sense to me.

Bengali

I think the difference probably has to do with the damage modifier only affecting the damage interval, and not the damage bonus.  Pet damage can be represented by the formula: DB + (DI * x), where DB=damage bonus, DI=Damage interval, and x=random number from 1 to 20.  So the DI could be increased by 5%, and due to rounding/truncation and the fact that a certain percentage of damage was unmodified (i.e., the DB), the impact on the overall formula would be less than 5%.

And that's what I call REAL Ultimate Power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Mahes

Ah, I didn't even think about the DB and DI, I just assumed it was off the max hit.  That would make a bit more sense as you explained it.

In response to the Growl issues, I did some limited parsing to see for myself what the effects of these spells were.  1 hour of parsing for each: Growl of Leopard showed a 7% dps increase for me and warder instead of the expected 15%, Growl of Panther showed a 12% increase instead of the expected 20%.  These numbers were for "me+warder", so I didn't separate out warder alone.  Still worth using under certain conditions, but PITA to recast every minute all the time.  Speaking of which, it's totally silly that extended enhancement effects do not boost the duration on the buff that hits us.  And changes our target to boot.  Yes i understand why, but it's stupid.

Ikkorus

Has anyone done any parses for Rashara to see which focus effect is better?

Urim

Spire Servant is the best available pet focus effect. However, that could change if a new pet focus is introduced in PoR. As far as I know, one has not yet been found but I haven't been keeping close track on new items.

If anyone has the information readily available can we get a new stickied thread that lists all the pet focus data please.
ie
ITEM                                         FOCUS                                    LOCATION                                     DIFFICULTY

obviously item being the item
focus being MoD, RS, SS w/e
loaction as in zone, mob, event, vendor
difficulty, base this on the avg gamer.  not raider and not the guy who logs on 1 time a week.  rate it low to high risk

Ill start to do my own research, being at work is so boring LOL, this will give me something to do

Is there any way this can be stickied to the top or moved to a new thread and stickied?

Currently all of the Seals are not in game.  I am assuming they are having difficulty trying to figure out how to make a player crafted item from an all/all component and restrict it to pet classes only.

The seals do not, and will not exist.  They were removed from the game.  The other items listed above are not useable by Beastlords, so they probably should be edited out.
