Title: After the combine
Post by: Shirrkarn Ayge on December 11, 2004, 08:56:34 AM
Text from Muada after obtaining Spiritbound Totem

You say ' I have finished the important duty'

Elder Animist Muada says ' Now you have a fine instrument which is a reminder of your ascendance as a beastlord. Keep it close to your heart as you need that item of your very essence if you choose to advance further as an animist. Now...to continue your journey. First you must once again help to rescue the tortured spirits of our kin. The seething darkness in Discord has once again [trapped spirits] of the wild that we implore you to retrieve.

You say 'What trapped spirits'

Elder Animist Muada says ' There are discordant beasts that have become twisted through no fault of their own. You may think of it as a spiritual plage, whicha has us mystified, but we need these creatures stopped. As they grow more infected with spirits, their strength is growing out of contol. We need you to go to that realm and find the source of the problem. They are incredibly large beasts, so beware and do not go alone. Go seek the scout.'

Well tormented scout in Bloodfields doesnt want to talk to me and she wont take the totem.

Tormented Scout says 'Go away! Now! Me no talk to you!'

Tormented Scout says 'I have no need for this item Tarsq, you can have it back.'

Tried the obvious key phrases from above, thinking it could be another scout, maybe triggered?

Have also hailed/given totem to Erana, Yerika and OT scout so far with no success.

Ps. Tormented scout is another up for 2 hours down for 2 hours npc(no idea on exact time) if looking for her.

QuoteThe seething darkness in Discord has once again [trapped spirits] of the wild that we implore you to retrieve ...*snip*... We need you to go to that realm and find the source of the problem

A discord zone I'd guess from this?

QuoteThey are incredibly large beasts

Bazu model mobs maybe?  Thinking that looking for a scout in WoS, NC etc that triggers some kind of "spirit trapped bazu" fight is likely.  There doesn't seem to be a scout that fits the bill in the Alla list other than the Tormented one in bloodfields.  So possibly one triggered by a bst with the right epic status zoning in, or that's the right one and we're missing a key phrase/faction/trick to make him respond.

Just some random thoughts

Khayden

EDIT :  Just noticed I typed discord zone then listed Omens zones... duh!  I was actually thinking omens at the time but the wording now that I've woken up does lead me to think are there any huge mobs in GoD that fit the bill also?

The bloodfields scout might be right, however you may need to be in a raid or group to speak to it.

Try running around WoS and NC (thinking bazu as the massive beast) with the totem on you.  I know a few other epic fights are triggered by your toon getting to the right place after getting far enough in their quest.

Well tried every phrase I could think of with Tormented Scout and got zero response.

In NC there are 3 Barzu raid mobs, Bone Cracker, Stone thrower, and Smasher.
In Wos There is Hulkor, Cipheron, and Velitorkin.
In BF there is the slumbering beast.
Any of these may drop something for us if killed by a raid with a bst at the correct point in the quest.

Blood fields also has an interesting mob called a reclusive girplan.
It has an insane regen rate and may be a posibility.

its not been said yet but what about anguish  or rs  since this is 2.0

The next part after the combine is definitely not from anguish.  I carry the totem with me where ever I go in Discord just to see if something new gets triggered.  I also carry the helm we had to make to just to see if the npc will or will not talk to us without it on.  But I am fully Anguish flagged and have been to a few aug droppers and the first 2 named mobs and found zip.  The idea that its actually in Noble Causeway seems to make some sense considering Muada says:

QuoteWe need you to go to that realm and find the source of the problem.  They are heredibly large beasts, so beware and do not go alone.  Go seek the scout.

Just a thought.  But may be worth checking out.  My guild regularly kills Bone Cracker when we get 10-15 together so next time we drop I will look for anything specific.

RS has 2 large beasts
Feratha and Chailak, large Chimaeras
we kill them every time they are up so if anything new drops from them I will post it

There are no scouts or "large beasts" in anguish (Ture doesn't count, he's not that talkative). Anyone tried wearing their cute bst epic 1.5 hat and talking to bloodfields scout?

What about Yerika Sisslak in Draniks Scar? Does he have anything to add after we've finished the totem?

Wanted to agree that perhaps you will need to be in a raid as Muada does say "do not go alone" I would perhaps form a raid while trying to speak with the scout in BF, not sure if that is in the script engine to have a raid be formed prior to a NPC releasing info.

RS: Chailak, Feratha, Queen - done
WoS: Hulcror - done
RCoD: Battlemaster, Zun`Muram Volklana - done

My guild raided these last night, and no beastie drop (i have totem in my inventory)

i cant test on my own since im far from that part (not able to get 2 ish groups for PoAir or 100ft flippy)  but anyone tried the slumbering beast? iirc it's with 4 ikaav "guards" maybe that would be it, it's a very large bazu.

Are there any instanced zones that you can't get in alone?
