Shadowpaw

Wood Elves are Fier Dal
Dark Elves are Tier Dal
High Elves are Koada Dal

But once they were the Dal.

Maybe 'dal' is the answer.

Could be orcs. From the History of Crushbone:

"The decision was split three ways and the orcs began to revert back to the methods of their ancestors: splitting into three differing clans. One clan marched north, taking residence in the familiar northern peaks of Rakthok's ridge and away from the careful eyes of the dwarves. The second clan decided to make the grassy fields of the loping plains their home. Even today this clan remains there, looting and plundering any caravans who happen to pass by. The third, and the largest clan, was lead by a young orc named Gharol. He convinced the majority of the orcs that true riches lied to the fertile lands of the east. There, he said, the orcs would find their new home and the crushbone clan, as he called his followers, would grow strong."

"I'll take Ancient Riddles of Norrathian History for 1000, Alex."

"Answer: They were once one that splintered into three."

"What are the Dal elves?"

"Correct! However, we also would have accepted "The Orcs" "The Continents" "The Plains of Karana" or any of a hundred other things that split into three in the history of Norrath."

Barbarians gave birth to Humans, Humans gave birth to Erudites.

thus = 3 different races derived from 1

"As the dust settled, the last of the gods came to Norrath. Mithaniel Marr, god of Valor, and Erollisi Marr, goddess of Love, created the Barbarians, a hardy race who settled the cold and rugged northlands..."

"Barbarians were suddenly transformed both physically and intellectually..." "In any case, this small and enlightened group were the fathers of the Human race"

"A small, frail man of great intellect called Erud led this group, and he formed them into a council. They quickly became irritated, even disgusted, by their fellow man. "

So.... try Barbarians.

Bheran

Whoever mentioned the Zeks made me think of the Triumverate of water - E'ci, Povar, Prexus. Farfetched, but since the others were tried...

Felidae

I like Shadowpaw's "Dal" rather then "Elves".

Giledorm

Anyone have text from the other sphinx, or is it only this one that responds?

Giledorm

Anyone try Iksar?

One race split into the 3 tribes... Obulus, Jarsath, and Kunzar?

Then again, there was also the Soriz, but they were kept by the Shissar...  /shrug.  Just and idea.
