Warder Mez breaks

One of our Beastlord pets last night broke a mez.  The owner does not have any of the pet focus aa.  Has anyone else seen this?  Any ideas how it happened?  Is it a bug?

Not really a bug per se, but timing on the pet's proc seems to be the deciding factor on pets being able to break mez nowadays.  Not happened to me in a long time...and sucks when it does.

Chances are...  The pet broke mez JUST as the mob itself was mez'd.  As was suggested, likely just a timing issue.
