I'm currently level 45 and was planning on getting my epic at 51 , but i was reading the post and some say you can get your epic before 51. Is that true ? Thanks for any help .

This used to be true but was changed a few patches ago.  I believe you have to be level 50 before getting the epic now.

Can i start the epic now , and do the turn in at 50? or can i not start till level 50?

You at least could gather the copper medal and the other 4 collectable drops (in ME, Grey, and Deep). Not sure if you turn in the copper medal you will get the box though.
