Title: Researchable spells...
Post by: Babybst on June 28, 2007, 12:30:07 PM
Does anyone know if the level 69 Rune spells are researchable?
I am getting close to needing them and as I have such difficulties getting groups I know I WON'T ever see greater runes.
Thanks,
babycat

They are -  if you have a researcher with skill level 300 :)  Actually if you are 69 get a RS or even MPG 5 way group and grind your ass off till you get em all.

My lil mage is 110 in research and made Shrew for my shm ( who never really did a whole lot of Ldons - her and the druids Ldon dots too) Once you get over level 50 in spells you need hard to get drops involving a lot of farming. Reasearch is a PITA tradeskill. I rather get my shm to 300 in alchemy again then do research..

A lot of the 66+ spells can be bought in the bazaar too.

I found almost all of my level 70 spells in the bazaar, but not a level 69 one is there on The Rathe(Karana) server.

The mobs who drop the Shabby Runic Vellum that is needed to create level 69 spells are rarely hunted, at least on my server. Maybe it's because mainly caster mobs drop them and those I know who do are also big fans of their Annul Magic spell.

On top of that is the failure rate once you get your paws on the right parchment. My alt has 262 raw skill in research with trophy and full AT AA's. That means for a level 69 spell like Feral Vigor there is a 5% chance to lose the parchment on the cleaning step, then a 31% chance to lose it all on the spell combine. Look at those numbers, think of you many times in a row you can fizzle a spell (remembering that there is only a 5% chance for a fizzle) and start to cry. So even those with a decent stock of the parchment will probably act like I do: I will try combines - for friends only and even there just for spells that are not repeated in the 71 to 75 range.

Rofl Tiroon. - It hink that is why I still suggest to get some friends and a good RS/MPG grind. MUCH easier to get runes for spells. Spellresearch is .... evil..

To delete spells from you book, you right click the spell then push the delete key on your keyboard.  I think then it will ask for you to confirm.
