Hi all, been hunting the poachers in JPF for a while now, easy camp and had great fun here. Xp is pretty slow now at 54 as mainly light blues so thought I would move on to Gnoll caves here. Has anybody got any advice as to strategy etc, also if you could check out my magelo and see if you think my eq is ok to take them on

Hiya!

Gnolls are pretty easy to take on...

Invis up as you enter the cave. Now, the casters can still see ya, so be careful!

Just hug to the right at each intersection, and you will drop down into The Pit.

Summon yer warder, buff up, and start killing. It really is that easy. There is one gnoll there in that corridor, and one at the far end. Then there are a couple spawns in that room there. I forget what the spawn times are, but you can kill a few in that room then return to where you dropped in at and start over again.

To get out, SoW, and invis, and... well, get a map, lol. Its just a big circle there, so once you peek at a map, you'll see where to go.

Your gear is just fine, probably slightly better than I had then! Hell, still is in some slots!  :P

Good hunting!

I hunted here myself in the mid-50's and it really is easier to clear out the gnolls on your way to the pit (or at least the one's who see invis) because you don't want to be dropping down into the pit with a bunch of angry gnolls on you and then get the possibility of some adds once you drop down also. It can get messy. Especially without a pet up.

My advice for the gnoll caves is to forget the pit, and head for the big room at the back of the caves.  The gnolls in there are spread out enough that you can easily single pull them.  I soloed there through 56 and 57 and almost NEVER got any adds.  VERY EASY camp.  Constant killing with ok loot.  You don't even really need a KEI.
