No Beastlords in EQ2

It looks as if every other class will make it to EQ2 but the beastlord. Anyone see any different?

That's correct.  No beastlord.  I think the problem is that beastlord is a triple class, part monk, part shammy, part pet.  It doesn't fit too well into the balancing scheme.  Ah well, I will miss Noriko.

Whoah! Hold on there guys n gals.

There's no class CALLED Beastlord in EQ2, we know this. However, it's not beyond the realms of possibilty to make a class that's not too disimilar to a Beastlord. Sure, it won't be quite the same class you know in EQ1, but from what I've read, EQ2 Pallies and SK's are nothing like their namesakes in EQ1.

The games still undergoing changes even as we speak. Hell, I don't think there's a *definitive* answer on a death penalty yet. There's plenty of people on EQ2 fan boards telling others "No Beastlords."

The simple fact is - nobody really knows for sure, so stay optimistic.  :)

Sure and in EQ2 I'm sure there will be a necro or other pet type class.  Well it's a pet class so it MUST be like a BL right????  WRONG.  There is no BL class and no substitute I'm afraid.  If you want to play a Beastlord, that will be a EQ 1 type thing.

Well until 3 years down the line in EQ1 when they "miraculously" find that the BL class had been "preserved" and suddenly allowes anyone to become one again, like they did with luclin in EQ1.

EQ2 has a bunch of things that scare me.  For example if you are the MT on raids and die a lot, your items decay and have to replace your stuff faster.  No such thing as kiting, you have to tank a mob to kill it, due to the way the combat system is made with the locked and unlocked mobs.  To boot, CR isn't recovering a corpse, but a spirit shard (basically a chunk of your character that if you lose spirit shards, you lose max attack, hp, or whatnot, permanently.)

Why are you even paying attention to what's been said about a pre-beta game?  Item decay may be based on time played, real life time, or they may remove it entirely.  We really won't know anything until the beta comes out, so until that point, it's a waste of time to even think about it.

I hang out at the EQ2 forums quite a bit and it is certain that there will be no class that can do what beastlord does (as a triple class).  So no, no beastlord in name and no beastlord in spirit.

I'll just keep playing EQ1 as long as they keep servers up. I don't see any reason to jump ship to EQ2 right off the bat. Let it marinate for a while, make sure it's something I want to play, then I'll abandon Keelo.

I work in the software industry and nothing in this type of product, one where the company developing it also makes the requirements, is set in stone until the CDs go gold.

As for me, I am not exactly rushing to get EQ2... no preorder, nothing. I just love my style of play with a beastlord too much.

Not to mention, I have barely scratched the surface of what I can do in EQ, hehe.
