I was kind of hoping that the new zoning rules would extend to having my warder get summoned with me when I used Call of Hero on my boxed mage.

It doesnt

That sounds like a bug to me. If they are retained when you port or gate I see no reason why they shouldn't stay through CotH.

This is not a bug nor an error but even if it was to write something like this in code would be really tough because you are not so much connected to your pet.  The mage is calling you, the Hero.  Not the Heros pet.

IN any case we do get summon companion. Even clicky gloves with the effect.
Just because a monkie can climb a tree does not mean it gets free cable.

IIRC, if you Suspend the pet CoH doesn't kill it.  I even remember recently that my suspended pet survived after I got rezzed.

Can't zone and keep a suspended pet, can't CoH and keep an un-suspended pet.

I think (and mages can chime in and correct me) that CoH killed pets in order to prevent some types of exploits.  I'm not even sure if these are even possible in todays game, but I guess the point is that there were different issues with CoH and pets so it's probably deliberate that CoH doesn't save them.

Maybe mages can put that in their top 10 list and the devs can reevaluate it.

Just suspend the pet before the CoH, and you're fine.  Don't see the big deal.

Then it's working as it always was, you'd lose your pet if you didnt' have suspend.

QuoteAnd if you don't have suspend?

Then either spend the 8 AAs to get it or stop complaining.  /boggle

Yeah.  If you don't have suspend then pet goes byebye from CoH.  There were some talking about a bug that actually resulted in them getting their pet back after being CoH'd once they zoned again.  This was without suspend AAs.  Pet is supposed to poof atm though if you get CoH and pet isnt' suspended.

I use CoH for more than just convenience to get across zones.

I also use it to split mobs in a similar way to Feign death.

You pull 2+ mobs and run them half way back to camp while CoH is casting. When you get summoned back to camp aggro is dropped and the mobs wander home. Grab the last one to leave and your golden. If I plan to use it this way then suspending before hand is no problem.

However, I also use it when I accidentally pull too many mobs. I cast CoH on mage and train the mobs around till it lands. It gets me out of trouble but kills the warder. My only chance is to hit /pet hold before warder gets aggro (you cant suspend a warder thats on a hate list), then run so far that by the time the mobs catch up I have had time to stop and suspend, and then do CoH.

If my warder would get summoned with me, if would make this so much more usable, as I wouldnt lose my warder everytime. If my warder can get succored with me..why cant he be summoned with me?

Hehe I think quite possibly to avoid situations like the one you want it to be used in.  Don't know for sure, but I can think of a few cases where having pet always come when CoH and having it shed aggro could be kinda powerful.

Xarilok

I got one for ya:  Pull 5 mobs, get CoH'd, they ALL wander back at the same time, again and again...

Pull 5, cast slow on 4 of them, sic pet on 5th, 5th stops, 4 chase you, run back past the 5th, so the 5th is closest to camp, get CoH'd leaving 4 mobs in one place, and a 5th (chosen deliberately no less) is standing someone else, waiting to be pulled again.

K has anybody tested this extensively.  I was in PoS the other night,, had warder up and was CoH'd.  Imagine my surprise when I turned around and there was my warder.  Now I was CoH'd a very short distance, not that that should matter.  We didn't get a chance to test again, because it was late and I was tired.  Has anybody else had it work??
