Keyboard-Controlled KVM Switch?

Hello,

I'm interested in running four accounts with two computers running two instances of EQ at once.  Right now I run two accounts on one computer, having used the windows campatability toolkit to allow me to alt+tab between windows.

I've seen a couple keyboard-controlled KVM switches, in particular a Linksys brand one that we use at work where all you have to do is tap Control twice to quickly switch between screens.  Does anyone use a setup like this?  My main concern is that the key combinations to switch computers might not be recognized when EQ is running.

Thanks for the information, I'll look into those too.  Seems like a good package considering I plan on running a Beastlord/Wizard and Bard/Cleric combo.


It doesn't really address my question of which KVMs that are keyboard controlled can be used within EQ though.   :?  

At first I thought certain key combinations might be disabled in EQ and would cause a KVM to not operate correctly.  However, after giving it more thought, I'm pretty sure that they should all work, since the KVM reads the key combinations before it's passed to the computer.

I have a Belkin Omni Cube (2 port model) which can be controlled by pushign scroll lock twice and either up or down arrow. I assume the 4 port model could be controlled the same way as well.

I have a 4 port KVM switch that I run 2 PCs on (main PC is stand alone), and it swaps between them just fine with a double "Scroll Lock" key tap ... I've no idea on the brand but I will post it later if you are interested.

I use a four port Belkin Pro KVM switch, it is great for playing multiple characters with.
Make sure that you get an electronic switching device and not a manual one, some of the cheaper versions may strugle with graphics and you can also get a lot of static/magnetic interference with the cheaper cables.

Can you give some examples of "good" kvm switches?  Also, do they handle wireless or usb mouses?
