How hard is the arena event in Riwwi

I have allready raised my faction high enough to activate the arena event in Riwwi and was curious as to what kind of group is needed for this. We are a guild of a few epic classes but mostly all bazaar bought gear. Could a full group of 65's with average equipment do this event? And if so what type of classes would any of you suggest to do this?

It sounds like alot of fun and any opinions would be great!  :D

I have never tried but a group from one of the top guilds (fully time equipped, working on GoD content) on my server tried it while I was hunting near the zone in. After going about 20mins one of them sent me a tell asking for rez because they wiped.

A full group of 65's in average gear should be able to do this event.  The litmus test is really how well your group would perform in Riwwi generally.   The event (in later stages at least) is harder than the base mobs in the zone, so if your group would have trouble dealing with one of the random named mobs and an add or two then the arena event might pose problems.   A group of Potime+ equipped players might find the event to be a tad easy.

Of course, as bham pointed out, a well-geared group can still wipe to it if something goes wrong, or if they don't know what they are doing.

A standard "balanced" group should be fine for this.  It's not one of those events where a chanter is required or a defensive warrior or anything, although you need to have some sort of CC plan and a beastlord probably could MT it. :) (EDIT: I mistyped "should" before, which didn't really make sense)

I helped a friend on wave 8 or 9, maintanked it, a chanter for cc and a cleric to heal me was enough to win.

Did my first 2 waves lately and was nearly able to solo the first one (btw, youre leashed during the event).

Well I was able to duo up to the 6th fight if I remember correctly then after that we were able to do it with 4 folks in elemental plane level gear.  Really after the 6th fight a chanter for mezzing really helps alot as some of the fights require you to mezz 2 and tank off 2.  I didn't find 1-10 hard at all in fact when we were done we were wondering what all the hubbub was about.  The end result is a very nice belt and more than worth it because it is multi slot augmentable.

If it isnt that hard I might get my usual group together and give it a go.

I have killed several hundred riwwi mobs trying for a regen BP, so my faction should be ok, right?

How do I start the event?

Killing riwwi mobs gives you nihil faction, to start the event you need to have slave resistance faction. You can raise that by feeding slaves or killing mobs in the arena, but the killing doesnt generate many faction hits.

The event is part of the BiC quest and if you count in the factioning pretty long and boring, alone the farming of the 10 keys takes time (you need 10 silver keys to start it).

Im looking to do this and have been collecting keys and feeding slave's but was wondering if its doable by Bst (me),cleric with ft15,war with 9.5k buffed,shaman,bard and either ranger,2nd bst or mage depending who's on.
Cleric,war and shaman are 3 boxed but very well,all very well equipped for non-elemental (i just got ele) and have took BoT tower bosses with this setup plus my boxed wizzy/bards boxed cleric.

Also, do I have to do BiC one and two or can I just free slaves/do arena?

I was soloing in Riwwi when a group asked me to come help on this since they needed a 6th.  Was able to stay for waves 1-8, which were easily handled by a single group of 65's pre-elemental.  9 and 10, I'm not so sure.

None of the 10 waves were really that hard when I did it.  The last wave has 6 mobs, half of which are mesable.  Guide I'm using is here:
