Hi all,

Today I finally completed my epic WOOT. Now I was wondering would I be better using the epic primary or my copper hammer of striking.

Also now I have the epic I dont need my SCHW for haste. Was wondering what else I could put in there, I have about 10k in the back atm

Thanks for the advise

Although the hammer is marginally faster, I believe you'd be better off using the epic in the primary. The extra ATT from the higher skill cap on h2h skill would make it worth your while.

Either way, you've got a nice primary  :)

I would not be so quick to judge on that.  Parse it out and see which is better.  Epic primary's stat is really not that good.  The added attack (from the slightly higher H2H cap) might not be enough to "cover" the low damage ratio.  Besides, the CHoS is not only "marginally faster", the 179 DD proc will significantly increase the damage output.  If you solo/tank a lot, it is not something to be ignored.  Again, the only way to tell is to parse it out.

If you don't want to go through the trouble, just take a look around here and see how many are still using epic primary.  I think collective wisdom would tell you otherwise.

Welp, if you're going to look at stats then don't forget the epic has 15 wis. And if you're going to include procs, then the epic primary has a 55% slow/DoT for 460 damage over 2 mins. It would take 3 procs of the hammer to exceed the damage of one proc of the epic. I've never used either, so someone else would have to comment of the frequency of procs.

The difference in skill caps (250 h2h 225 1hb) amounts to about 67 att at lvl 65 (or so I've read). I wouldn't consider that to be an insignificant amount.

Having said all that, Noriko is absolutely correct that parsing is the only way to really tell. Either would make a fine primary, and it may be a situational call (the hammer proc also has a 0 sec stun to interrupt casters, epic slow is best a beastlord can do till you get the lvl 65 slow spell).

If it means anything to you I'd use the epic,  sell the hammer and use the cash to buy a nice 2hb (if you dont already have one) or to upgrade somewhere else

also keep in mind that the hammer can be very agro prone, with the epic as long as its slowed by 65 beast or shammy or chanter the slow on it makes for next to nothing for agro

Hmmm. That's *not* my experience with using the epic pri weapon. I think it's a high taunt weapon regardless of the slow on the mob. While using it I often got aggro after a proc. Slows that don't/can't land still have considerable aggro. I also keep drowsy mem'd if I want to be able to taunt a mob in group and it works nicely even on enchanter slowed mobs.
