3D not working

Downloaded dirextx 9.0  per the patch message and now I cant log on. I get an error message to delete my eqmain.dll and try again. Tried that with same results. Then I checked my dbg.txt and it indicated I had a problem with d3d. So then I went to dirextx diagnostic to test things out. It appears that testing the 3D drawing fails in step 8 (creating 3D device) everytime. Any clues on how to fix this?

Forgot, this is a GeForce4 MX440 video card.

I had some slight issues till I updated my video driver.  Just download the new ones if you haven't and install/reinstall them.  If you are reinstalling, kill any programs in the background, like anit-virus junk and try again.

This thread has my only solution for your problem.  That does NOT mean it IS the only one, just the only one I know.

And delete all the *.txc file in your EQ folder.

Got it finally, the newest recommended driver doesnt work with my PC. Rolled it back to the old driver and now I can log on.
