Hiyas

I am looking for a graphical Dolby Digital (AC3) mixer software, where i can insert various audio files and place their position relative to the listener and that will create a final 5.1 .ac3 file for me. No, Steinberg is out of reach even tho i know Mr. Steinberg in person, but i'm not Mr. Creosote :)
Emphasize is on the mixing process, i could live with 6 seperate final audio file, i can mux those into a final .ac3 file with external software.

Hmm, it's been a while since I used to tinker in audio. Most of the packages have a steep learning curve (used to use Logic Plat) and came with a hefty price tag. Have you tried Sonic Foundry's Acid? Last I heard, the newest release integrated midi capabilities, throwing it into the pro audio field. Other than that, you could try Cakewalk.
