Too bad it is self only. Had it been a deal where you could buff others that would have been cool IMO.

I feel bad for those that have started/finished the quest and the end weapon is not what you wanted. Sucks I know but the only good thing coming out of this is I don't have to work on faction now.

Considering that this weapon has the same ratio as Whistling Fists I doubt there would be an upgrade else the monks would have a fit. The proc is in a way inline with the clicky that the shamans get. While it would be nice if this weapon was better I think it's a good fit when compared to the other iksar progressive quest. These quest are supposed to be comparable to the epics and in fact this weapon has a slightly better ratio than the epic.

Yep the ratio is disapointing, if ok compared to the ratio of a quest weapons put in ~2 years ago, but compared to upto date weapons not so much (Berzerker epic for example is much better ratio wise than other epics as it is obviously a new quest and it would be pointless to put in a new epic that was out classed straight away by bazaar gear).

But with a decent effect it could have been useful (WF for example has haste, good stats, hitpoints and resists, but I don't think many monks use it for it's ratio so much).

its not just that the WF has a haste ..its a song haste

Song/spell doesn't matter, only Erjav line (Hastev2) and Rizlona/Vah shir (Hastev3) will stack with normal haste (including normal haste from bards).

WF haste is just a normal haste click, and any 30% or higher haste will take precedence.

Considering you could probably do this quest in, what, 12 hours from start to finish and get a weapon comparable perhaps with the Fist of Iron it's really not that bad. Pretty decent weapon to take you through the 50's for those not twinked.

I decided to have work on this quest in my spare time, mostly for giggles, but I have hit a small wall. I have been unable to spawn any man eating creepers in Swamp oNH, I logged a friends ranger and slaughtered eh area around the fallen statue and buried head, but with no luck. After the July 14th patch though, I have noticed a new drop, some sort of no drop lettuce, stackable, not lore, but no man eating creepers, and no cabbage...slightly disturbing.
Any insight or ideas to where else I can try to spawn the creeper, or am I just in the wrong place entirely?

That is the right spot. I killed everything in the area, and hunted with a tracker. Didn't take very long to spawn it at all; the other drops required from that area for the newbie armor were a lot tougher to get.

Hello All,

I am new to the boards and just wanted to say I have gotten alot of great information from here for beastlords thank you!

I just started this new claw quest and like the person who posted above I cannot get the creeper plant to spawn and if I do it does not drop the cabbage. I have been using my g/f's druid to track and I have been at this for a week I was mainly focusing around the statue,iksar head area but I am just having no luck at all and it's getting very frustrating.

This morning I just tried killing everyting around me hoping maybe I would hit the ph or something but one thing I did notice on my g/f's druid track is that I was getting alot of named to spawn..wish I would of paid more attention to all the names but I believe one of them was a plant...was just wondering if maybe this named could be a ph.

I am just tired of trying to get this dang cabbge, maybe I will just venture over to Dalnir and start that part when I get tired of that come back to SonH and have another go at. Does anybody have any suggestion on getting this creeper plant? I am thankful that my g/f has a lvl 59 bst to help me out in Dalnir.

Is the drop rate in Dalnir fixed? I stopped after getting 6 of the pieces from there and got tired of clearing it over and over. Are cloth caps still dropping like crazy?

I got my battle plans in Dalnir early, and apaprently the drop rate has been increased. I did some killing in there for Greenmist a couple of weeks ago, and the drop rate seemed better then.

I was also killing in the Swamp near the iksar bandit camp, with a tracker, and I saw the creeper on track a couple of times. Wasn't often enough, I though, and I didn't check drops.
