Title: Combined post of all Epic 1.5 Info (will keep updated)
Post by: LyonoThundercat on September 17, 2004, 06:18:03 PM
Ok, for all of you following the Epic Quest lines so far:

PART ONE:

Elder Animist Muada says 'You seem to have created a reputation for yourself. I have heard of you from Dumul himself as he keeps a watch on most beastlords in the lands. I trained him when he was much younger and look how magnificent he has become.  Like some others, I do see that you also have used your knowledge and skills well.  The command of wild spirits is very strong with you.  If you are truly in tune with the airs of spirits, you will likely know that all is not right with the [wild], no matter which path of the beastlord you follow.'

You say, 'What wild'

Elder Animist Muada says 'We can only talk in generalities for now as we are still investigating the strange disturbance with the feral spirits.  I can tell you that the opening of a way to Discord and that dark realm itself have something to do with all of this.  The spirit world has been [infected] by Discord somehow -- we are certain of that.'

You say, 'infected?'

Elder Animist Muada says 'Some fear we are losing some of our spirits as they sadly seep into that realm that seems to live and breathe.  We can only employ the best of beastlords to help us with this task.  You will, in fact, very much be acting as an elder for a time, becoming one with the wisest of us all.  Your body and beast will be strained to the fullest limits.  Are you [ready] to work among us, master of the feral?'

You say, 'I am ready'

Elder Animist Muada says 'Very well then.  We, the elders, all carry and often wear a [Helm] of the Feral.  It is a cap that each of us creates to channel the essence of the wild through our minds and bodies.  If you are planning to attempt to walk with us in our battle against the chaos of the dark realm, then you will need to fashion your own.'

You say, 'What helm'

Elder Animist Muada says 'In order to create the helm, you will need to collect several items that may prove a challenge -- one that I feel you can overcome.  If you're willing, I will share the [requirements] with you, feral lord.'

You say, 'What requirements'

Elder Animist Muada says 'These tasks fall to you and you only as a beastlord.  In order to create a helm that is truly your own that is tied to your essence, you must gather some rare items to create it.  And, you must be a master with your tailoring if you wish to succeed in making this item.  In part, you will need to use your instincts to discover where these [items] are. '

You say, 'What items'

Elder Animist Muada says 'You will need to [find] a wild grass pushing through the stones of a dark corner in a place built on foul earth.  It bears a magic that we will use as the thread that will help focus your thoughts.  We will also require an elusive shrub that rarely shows itself that we recently discovered.  It is also magic and we will use it for the tanning.  Its essence shields your mind from invasion.'

You say, 'find?'

Elder Animist Muada says 'You will also need to release the tortured essence of a bloated, wild, tusked creature that suffers and collect a tear.  Finally, a kindred spirit and tailor has found a magic that creates a good leather for this helm.  Seek him out.  Now go and return all of these precious goods and I will further instruct you.'

Ok, now to make it more fun:

Piece #1:  Sirens Grotto - An Ailing walrus (Drops aWildspirit Tear (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=57003)) Placeholders are the "Servant" Walrus and Manatee that are around zone.  From information, Ailing Walrus can pop anywhere a Servant was.

Piece #2: Gulf of Gunthak - Savage Lord Hunter (loc is (n) 2644 , (p) 918) requires you to give him 3 unstacked Blue Diamonds.  Results in Taut Leather Swatch (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=57004).

Piece #3: Plane of Disease - Roaring Grass (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=57001) (PoP) Ground Spawn - Found on the floor of PoD castle at loc (p) 65 , (p) 1777.   (Info from here copied from a post by Caali and was 2nd'ed by Onti)Gryme can be duoed/trioed with reasonable gear, altho if your unsure whether you have the gear, bring a group. The location of the ground spawn is just beyond Aramin. Aramin does not have to be killed. There are 2 trash mobs either side of her that you can pull out (put pet hold on or pet will aggro her and die). Once they are dead theres 2 guards and 1, perhaps 2 trash mobs behind her. I then pulled them and dispensed with them (I had 66 bst, cleric, necro for this, we had nps dealing with them - elemental gear). Once the guard and trash mobs are dead, run past her (shes perma rooted so don't worry), go into the corridor and look left on the floor, ground spawn is a brown pouch.

Piece #4: Riwwi, Coliseum of Games (GoD) Petrified Fangshrub (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=57002) - Ground Spawn  (n) 349 , (n) 29

Take all four items and turn them into Elder Spiritist Mauda, he will hand you back a Pattern and a Needle.  From here, you are wise to have 100+ tailoring skill for the final combine.  It results in the following item:

Helm of the Feral (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=57007)

After you have completed the turn in and get the Helm back, Equip it, and Speak again with Elder Animist Muada:

You say, 'I am done'
Elder Animist Muada says 'Ah, I see you were successful! You become more like one of the elders each day -- elders which may now become known to you. I would like you to become familiar with some of the greater animists of Norrath, so I will have you make some deliveries on my behalf. These elder animists are very busy and you must find them on your own in our lands. Show this letter to the elders as you find them.'

He gives you: Letter from Muada

PART TWO:

(Not in any order as of yet for the Elders)

Go find a Barbarian named Marrey McGrannel in Ocean of Tears at loc neg 1521, pos 1542. She does not reply to hails, but will start talking to you once you turn in the letter to her.

Marrey McGrannel says. "It is indeed authentic. i suppose i can tell ye that i've been studyin' the way o' the sirens. We as beastlords use the strength of our warders, as well as bestow magic upon them. These sirens use mind tricks! i'm workin' on a [way] to use the magic these fair ocean maidens do to help our kin."

you say, "What way?"

Marrey McGrannel says. "I do miss me time with Muada and i suppose i'll get me chance again. I'll have to leave now and go to Muada so that i may learn what i must do for him to end the threat to your ways as beastlords. Be well and ready to open your mind to learn from Muada."

after that, she gives you the leter back & despawns.

Found an iksar elder in Overthere named Irionu Bastun. loc (p) 3520 , (n) 3096 at north east corner of overthere, by the water at the ithmus.  Didn't respond to hails but when handed in letter you hear:

Irionu Bastun says 'Ah, well, expect rigorousss timesss. Nice to see a familiar stroke of the pen. I learned from muada a long time ago and it wasss not easy. His tasksss are never easy. Are you familiar with these [lands]?'

You say, 'What lands?'

Irionu Bastun says 'I've been studying the rhinocerousss asss well asss other thingsss I cannot discuss, but my life is about our kind and the power of our warders. This gray beast here isss so incredibly fierce and surprisingly agile for itsss size. I have been able to use the waysss of ferociousss beastsss in some of my conjuresss that you may have heard of, hm?! Endless things to learn about wild beastsss. Enough slithering of the tongue, I shall [read] thisss note now.

You say 'read'

Irionu Bastun says 'I must go. That letter bringsss troubling newsss. I must hurry asss I now have another task I must pursue urgently. I marked that letter for Muada for you. Do not lose it.'

Elder #3: Find a Vah Shir named Rashara Wrualla in Jaggedpine Forest, p324, n1592 and you will get the following:

Rashara Wrualla says 'Terrible. Just Terrible. I had a feeling something was wrong. You may return this to him -- I have signed it. Interesting place here, isn't it? Those Potameids do cause come trouble. I find them very hard to study as they are quite feisty. I specialize in the advancement and power of warders and the spirits of the wild I command are very dear and special. Many of them are of an ilk you have never seen and they are much sought after. All that will have to [wait]. I must go.'

You say, 'why will it have to wait?'

Rashara Wrualla says 'I have no time to study now. I must leave and prepare to assist Muada. I would guess you may have a role in all of this too. Goodbye, young one.'

Then head out to find the Ogre, Ikpug Giblod in Cazic Thule, p865, n355. In the water tanks.  Once you jump in, you will have to gate out.  There is a good write up here at this link:

http://www.beastlords.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3717

Though some people have said it is tougher than it sounds to make it to him.

Once you find him, the text is as follows:

Ikpug Giblod says: Ah, is letter from Muada! Have back! I gets bugged all da time out here. Me hates it lots. All my try to do study da lizards and how dey [survive] and grow in dis pretty and big place.

You say: How do they survive ?

Ikpug Giblod says: Well, da smarts is big clue, but how dey manage to build such pretty tings is mysery. Me been here many weeks and still [learning].

You say: What are you learning ?

Ikpug Giblod says: Oh dear. Dere bad tings brewin. Me gots now and get prepared to help Muada. I sorta signed dat letter for you. Bye beastlord!

(This information brought to us by Lestor of FV Server)

Locate Elder Diddugu in Western Wastes near the north end of the zone standing by some crystal formations. He's in the northern regions of Western Wastes located at '4246, -93'.   If he's not KoS.. then lucky you! Or if you're a Vah`Shir and can sneak.. by all means do so.

The safest way to get to him is by following the eastern short north, and continue along the north shore westard until you see him. You'll probably see him before Jen Sapara.. but she's very close to him, and level 62. So no touchy.

I handed in the note, and he promptly replied:

Diddugu said 'I will do nothing to aid beings like you.'

That's a bummer. :( Well, I was through with Mr. Diddugu yet. I headed back to Muada and got another note.

This time.. I brought a friend with me. I put the note into the Give NPC window, and had my friend grant me invisibility... He was indifferent to me then. I hit Give. Bingo:

Diddugu said 'Tanks. You can have back. Me spit 'n' smear dat so Muada know me see it. Me smudged it me thinks. Me trust no one! Me on big job now and no time. Me studying da [mastodon].  Dey hurt me lots, but me tuff with my warder. No match for me! Dey do survive da cold good and manage not to die wit all da wurms and da beasts here. Me try to learn to harness da power of dem.'

You say, 'mastodon'

Diddugu says 'Geez. No rest for me. He he. Must go. You go to. Dangerous for you here. You not so tough!'

He handed the note back right away... I begged and pleaded with him to give up more information.. but he just scowled... Oh well. He 'signed' the note and that was all that was important. Back to Elder Muada in Shar Vahl I went. I handed him the note:

Elder Animist Muada said 'Greetings once again, Lestor. I am satisfied that you may now take on the greater challenges facing our kind. The problem within the spirit world is far more serious than we had first thought and needs to be addressed. It is time for you to take on your first task. Do you [believe] you are ready to continue?'

You say, 'I believe'

Elder Animist Muada said 'At the eye of the storm in the sky, there are rumors of a hungry beast. It was once an surmountable spirit, but it has learned and aged and grown too powerful for anyone to tame. Its spirit is imbued with a feral force that must be reclaimed by a beastlord. You must release the savage energy it has absorbed and return it to me. We will return it to the spirit world at once. You must also find and bring me the remains of a disturbed spirit in a realm of night terrors. I need to understand what has infected those ethereal beasts of late. Bring both to me.'

And that was that.. I left Muada, and here I am to tell the story!

3rd Part:

Upon handing Elder Animist Muada both:

Darkened Spirit Essence(ME)  Seems to drop by the Fire Pits area off a Frantic Ravenous Beast.  Place Holder seems to be a spectral wolf or ravenous beast.  The loc is -127, -747.  No information on how rare the drop rate is.
Disturbed Beast Essence(PoN) - Drops from Ravenous Nightstalkers (The werewolf lookin guys) past the waterfall on the right side of PoN.  Seems pretty common drop.

Muada says the following:

Elder Animist Muada says, "Ah, that troubled wolf harbored a strange mix of spirits that were too volatile to control. I think we are beginning to understand the problem more. The energy from the Realm of Discord is tainting some wild creatures. From what we've learned, creatures with some age and wisdom behind them are most susceptible. It seems we cannot save them all, but we must release their spirits into the ethreal wilds of Norrath so they can be free and no longer [tortured and ruined.] "

You say, "tortured and ruined?"

Elder Animist Muada Says, "We are hearing of more of our respected spirits that are becoming prey to the chaotic magic from Discord. Should you continue, it will be a step on the walk to a [greater calling] -- to walk with the Elders in the name of beasts of every ilk, to rescue there spirits from eternal pain and corruption."

You say, "greater calling?"

Elder Animist Muada says, "Irionu Bastun has discovered another spirit that suffers. I understand she has already told you about the ways of the Rhinoceros. This is yet another creature than was once easily tamed that is endangering the lives of many. More importantly, it's spirit has become plagued witht he chaotic magic of discord. Irionu believes that it's spirit may have been traded or confused with one from the dark realm. I need you to learn more and tell me what you know. Go find Irionu as soon as you are able to and give her this letter. "

You receive Note to Irionu

You say, 'Hail, Irionu Bastun'

Irionu Bastun says 'Greetingsss and welcome back, beastlord. I have sensed an unwieldy presence among the feral spiritsss and it threatensss to consume all in itsss path, flesh and ethereal essence both. We can't afford to lose more spiritsss to the darknesss of Discord and this beast threatensss that very thing. I'm afraid the eldersss forbid me to go asss if I am lost we lose another with a strong connection to the wild spiritsss. So, I must ask you to [track down] thisss creature in my stead.'

You say, 'Track down ?'

Irionu Bastun says 'I'm afraid that all I can tell you isss that it isss most thought of as an easily tamed creature, but now it hasss been twisted and frayed into a strange and terrible beast. Though it isss a common beast, trace it to its originsss -- where it wasss born. This one hasss been untouched by any who would tame it. It wasss once prized -- I can sense that. Extraordinary creature. Should you discover the beast, you may need to end itsss mortal existence. Return to me with what you learn. Be quick.'

Then handed in essence from the drogmoor.

Irionu Bastun says 'So, we have lost another. I do try to not worry about this threat, but I do not know how to stop it. Each day we feel more pain and trouble with our feral spiritsss and even our companionsss feel asss though their ferocity is becoming clouded. You must go see Elder Muada. He will want to speak with you, I have no doubt. Give him thisss letter.'

Part Four:

Go back to Elder Animist Muada in Shar Vahl:

You say, 'Hail, Elder Animist Muada'

Elder Animist Muada says 'I will say 'tis very good to see you again. Shall I assume we have some business to tend to?'

Elder Animist Muada says 'I understand you had to end the life of that poor old drogmor. He was prized stock, you know. He was one of the oldest and most revered by those who raised the mounts. Where there was trouble with the wilds, there is now some peace. Someday you will learn to feel it too. Let me read this [letter].'

You say, 'What letter ?'

Elder Animist Muada reads the note and his whiskers twitch, his often bright eyes become dull.

Elder Animist Muada says, "Oh, no. What a terrible turn. How can this be? Two of our most [majestic and unique creatures] -- with such wisdom and magic. Of all, I thought these would not be touched or affected.'

You say, 'What majestic and unique creatures ?'

Elder Animist Muada says 'You would know them as two halves of a whole, I suppose. I cannot speak their names for fear. There is so much we don't know and so many suspicions. The corruption of our precious beasts feels more than coincidence now. These creatures that stand so proud and regal know what is happening to them and we need to help them, but that path is a difficult one. I cannot tell you more as we can trust very few and there are prying eyes and ears. Go to Marrey McGrannel and ask her about the danger to our majestic creatures.'

Head out to Ocean of Tears and Locate Marrey McGrannel (bring 3 Ales along with you... she is a heavy drinker  :P )

You say, 'Hail, Marrey McGrannel'

Marrey McGrannel says 'Aye, ye have returned to help with this great and difficult problem. 'Tis is so complicated, I hardly know where to [begin].'

You say, 'Begin ?'

Marrey McGrannel says 'Not without an ale. Would ye have one handy? If not, would ye be so kind as to get one? Actually, make it three. Sorry for the trouble, but I've been out here so long, I've near forgotten the finer things in life!'

Hand in 3 ales,

Marrey McGrannel says 'Thanks to ye. Ah! Now, let's get on with it. 'Tis a long story, so how about we have a wee chat. Take a seat if ye like, hm? Are ye [ready] to listen? Ye are going to need to pay attention -- even as I ramble on a bit.'

You say, 'I am ready'

Marrey McGrannel says 'Aye, so, this takes us back many, many years ago, so it's hard to tell truth from legend, but I'll share it all with ye. I'm sure at some point in yer life, ye've either seen or heard of them sphinxes in the Rathe Mountains? And, I bet ye have [no idea] where they came from.'

You say, 'I have no idea'

Marrey McGrannel says 'Indeed. Well, here is what I can tell ye and ye can decide if it's true or tale. Only the sphinxes themselves know where they came from. No one else does at all. Two of the few remaining sphinxes, named Zazamoukh and Ankhefenmut, have [been on Norrath] longer than you or I and, maybe, before Veeshan laid her mighty claws across the ice of Velious.'

You say, 'Been on Norrath ?'

Marrey McGrannel says 'Aye, I'm glad ye asked. So, the story goes that during the Age of Blood, there were great ogre magi of the Rallosian Empire who convinced the sphinxes to ally with their legions, but it was no easy task. That ogre magi had their [work] cut out for him to get that alliance to come about.'

You say, 'What work ?'

Marrey McGrannel says 'Them ogres really had to wrap their minds about riddles that the [sphinxes] created and after many attempts, they finally won their allegiance and some of the secrets the ancient creatures guarded. Some say that those secrets were the reason the gods destroyed the ogre magi instead of cursing them as they did the other ogres.'

You say, 'Sphinxes ?'

Marrey McGrannel says 'At one time, there were many of those creatures, but a lot of sphinxes were slain during the great wars of the Age of Blood and in the aftermath of the fall of the Rallosian Empire. Two of the few remaining sphinxes flew with haste to hidden valleys in the Rathe Mountains, away from the meddlesome races. Their secrets were once again protected and freed from the alliance with the ogre magi. But now they are [threatened].'

You say, 'Threatened ?'

Marrey McGrannel says 'It is a very rare occasion when those sphinxes attempt to contact any Norrathian, but they have. Their minds have been invaded and they feel a dark presence trying to overcome them. They believe it to be a dark influence in Discord. While they want our help, we cannot just go [speak]to them.'

You say, 'Speak ?'

Marrey McGrannel says 'We must accommodate their requests to build trust. This means we must weave through their riddles. Once we do, we will be able to talk to them and help them. We've decided that ye be the beastlord who will take on this task. Go tell them you are willing to help them and see what you learn.'

Receive a "Feral Lord's Brooch" on cursor - no drop expendable item with 10 charges of sow all/all

Seek out and find Ankhefenmut & Zazamoukh ( in Rathe Mountains @ loc 3462.82, -3316.92, 24.21)

You say, 'Hail, Ankhefenmut'

Ankhefenmut eyes Mingo curiously.
Your faction standing with Ankhefenmut got better.
Your faction standing with Zazamoukh got better.

Ankhefenmut looks upon you warmly -- You could probably win this fight.

You say, 'I am willing to help you'

Ankhefenmut says 'Uyo rea het tebardsrol?'

You say, 'I am the beastlord'

Ankhefenmut says 'Ah, a quick study. Interesting. We did indeed seek some help, but you must [prove] your wits. That is our way.'

You say, 'prove'

Ankhefenmut says 'You must answer three [riddles].Because I only request your help, I will not put you through a great challenge, but you must know and understand the world around you if you expect to pass this test of good faith.'

You say, "What riddles?"

Ankhefenmut says 'The first riddle is thus -- There are two revolving in two ways.'

You say, 'moons'

Ankhefenmut says 'Very well. I see that wasn't too great of a challenge. The second riddle you must answer is -- Set upon the world in defiance, the cauldron still swims with its ire alone.'

You say, 'kedge keep'

Ankhefenmut says 'I had not thought you'd get this far. Most of Norrath's history is forgotten, but this is encouraging indeed. The final riddle you must answer for me, is this -- They were one that splintered in to three.'

You say, 'elddar elves'

Ankhefenmut says 'You have indeed studied the world and know the simplest of references. I am grateful you would even attempt to aid us, two of the few remaining sphinxes. Most would rather take our secrets from us or see us dead! And I do believe we have once again come upon an [enemy].'

You say, 'come upon what enemy'

Ankhefenmut says 'Yes, and do perk your ears. I do not want to have to say this too loudly. There is darkness around our minds and it is clouding our visions and magic. It is a cold, [chaotic feeling] and it does not feel natural. I might have dismissed it as my path to aging, but it is not, for my counterpart, Zazamoukh, feels it too.

You say, 'what chaotic feeling'

Ankhefenmut says 'Not since we allied with the ogre magi long ago, have I felt foreboding in my heart. But I feel it tenfold now. Something or someone is attempting to envelop our minds and use them against us somehow, but we are not sure how. I fear that even as I speak to you, I am [endangered] further, and so are you.'

You say, 'endangered'

Ankhefenmut says 'Zazamoukh calls to me. You must go see the sphinx quickly.'

You say, 'Hail, Zazamoukh'

Zazamoukh says 'My mind . . . something is [happening].'

You say, 'whats happening'

Zazamoukh says 'Something . . . is wrong. My companion . . . it weakens me . . .'

Rambling Sphinx Spiritservant has a dark glow in its eye as it rushes toward you.

*** Fight a Rambling Sphinx Spiritservant ***

Rambling Sphinx Spiritservant's corpse babbles incoherently as the glow in its eyes is extinguished.

--You have looted a Tarnished Ankh Piece.--

You say, 'Hail, Zazamoukh'
Zazamoukh says 'You must give me the remains of that creature.'

*** Hand Zazamoukh the Tarnished Ankh Piece ***

Zazamoukh says 'Thank you. Your actions have earned my trust and gratefulness. The ankh you have returned, that extends the life of my companion, is tainted. Ankhefenmut carries the other piece of the ankh and may need help. You must return to Ankhefenmut as the dark magic grows with each moment. Take this magic silk scarf to Ankhefenmut so that the ankh can be shielded.'

Ankhefenmut says 'What is this? Too . . . late . . . I do not understand. I am fading!'

Raving Sphinx Spiritservant has a dark glow in its eye as it rushes toward you.

*** Fight a Raving Sphinx Spiritservant ***

Raving Sphinx Spiritservant's corpse babbles incoherently as the glow in its eyes is extinguished.

--You have looted a Sullied Ankh Piece.--

Ankhefenmut says 'Beastlord, I am indeed impressed. We did not know that there was a dark magic on the ankh pieces. It seems the life that flows from the ankh will need to be restored, but I think we are safe now. Take this gift to return to the beastlord elders who aided us.'

Receive Gift of the Sphinx you take to Elder Murada

Head back to Elder Animist Muada in Shar Vahl:

Elder Animist Muada says 'Gracious, that is indeed a precious gift. I will present it to the elders when we next gather as a council. They will be overjoyed at the rescue. You may keep that Feral Lord's Brooch to yourself as a reminder of what you learned. All [does not end] here though.'

You say, 'what does not end'

Elder Animist Muada says 'There is still much to do as the sickly magic of Discord trickles through time and space to Norrath and Luclin. It appears that we may need to go to its source. You must go to Rashara. She will have a tale to tell you that will help you on your way to ending this threat to the wild.'

Locate Rashara in Jaggedpine Forest:

You say, 'Hail, Rashara Wrualla'

Rashara Wrualla says 'Aye, I do remember that face, Beastlord. I am still recovering from my short trip to Kuua that suffers from the touch of the Realm of Discord. What a dark and foul place it is. Some of the creatures have hearts so dark it is nearly inconceivable. One of those creatures has robbed me of what I hold [most dear].'

You say, 'most dear'

Rashara Wrualla says 'There is a beast called a girplan, and while it does draw blood, it digs its fangs much deeper. I was traveling with my warder and encountered a girplan that was different somehow. It attacked me and my faithful warder ran to my aid. I did come upon some [luck], though.'

You say, 'luck'

Rashara Wrualla says 'I was able to get some distance when it landed a fatal blow to my companion. But, not only did it draw its blood afterward, it drew its essence, and now I am unable to summon my companion to my aid. I do not understand how it happened and I would have thought it [not possible].'

You say, 'not possible'

Rashara Wrualla says 'It would mean a great deal to me and the elders if you could seek out this girplan in that eerie scarred land and, perhaps, discover what it did to my warder. I am unable to go myself as I could never dream of traveling without my warder. You will find a beastlord in Discord who also seeks the same creature. Give him this note.'

Head out to Dranik's Scar and find Yerika Sisslak (Loc is neg590 pos 50)

You say, 'Hail, Yerika Sisslak'

Yerika Sisslak says 'You have the aura of a beastlord I should trust. If Elder Muada hasss sent you, you must prove it to me.'

Turning in note spawns named and 11 adds. Drops Rashara Warder Essence you hand to Yerika.   Named mob is a Girplan.

Yerika Sisslak says 'You have certainly accomplished what I was not able to. I must go now, but be sure to take this letter and the essence back to Rashara.'

Find Rashara Wrualla:

Rashara Wrualla says 'I am speechless. You have done what I thought was impossible. You've restored my place as a beastlord and an elder. I am forever in your debt. Return to Muada and tell him I sent you so you may hear the most-troubling news . . . it seems we know more about a true enemy of beastlords in Discord. I can say no more.'

Head back to Elder Animist Muada in Shar Vahl:

You say, 'rashara sent me'

Elder Animist Muada says 'It seems that as soon as we overcome one problem, another makes itself known. This time, though, we have found a [beast] in Discord that truly means to abuse the strength of the wild spirits.'

You say, 'what beast'

Elder Animist Muada says 'There is a foul creature that is borne of Discord itself. We believe it has discovered a way to abuse the ways of the beastlord for its own gains. It has invaded the ethereal world of the wild and is trapping the magic and power we consider sacred. It must be [stopped] before it grows ever powerful and erodes the ability of all beastlords to be at one with our feral companions.'

You say, 'stopped'

Elder Animist Muada says 'Go speak to Erana Farrel. She is in the city of the dragorn and will most likely be in hiding while she investigates. She was the first to discover this evil plot and has the most information to help you. Give her this cloak. She had asked for some protection while she was out in that volatile realm.'

After you get the cloak from Muada, travel to Ruined City of Dranik.
Erana is at -1019, -253 (Under bridge)
Unconfirmed but my hunches are that she is up for 2 hours then down for 2 hours. For instance right now im waiting for her respawn because I turned my cloak in with her about to despawn.

Hand her Elder Cloak of Resiliance from Mauda.   This will spawn the mob you need.

Erana Farrel says 'Egads, me friend. It has been summoned from the ground. Take as many friends as ye can muster. Ye are going to need them. This creature will be surrounded by summoned spirits of our very own warders. Ye must release as many of those abused spirits as ye can and dispatch the animist. That beast must have something he uses to control the warders. Return it to me!'

Spawns (413, -1466)

Discordling Dark Animist has been slainl!

He has 5 Warders, one of every race. All slowable (not sure about migitate) they hit for 600ish.

He has a good amount of hp, or so it seemed to me, since our dps was allocated all over the place. We offtanked and killed adds which seemed good until the AE dot which was 1000dd + manadrain/hp like 100ish per tick. That made our clerics go oom. It was close, we had 18, pretty much all elemental quality/few time pieces. Hits 800ish.

Things you want to know before you turn in his cloak.

-Set up your raid force in the hall. There are a trio of Dragorns that might get in your way. Have you raid pull them, then hand in your cloak.
-The event despawns in an hour. It was bad for me considering I had no clue what was happening the first time, had to run around the zone and find out what the deal was.
-You can get another cloak by speaking to Mauda.

--You have looted a Discordant Totem of the Feral.--

Spawns Discordant Dark Beastlord plus 5 adds 1 of each type of warder.

Turn in Discordant Totem of the Feral

Erana Farrel says 'You are owed a great debt from beastlords everywhere. You have restored the revered spirits of the wild and they have returned to Norrath. And, what's this? Interesting. I would not have expected you to find this totem. Its markings are unfamiliar. I have wrapped it for you. You must go to see Muada at once and show him this.'

Turn in Wrapped Discordant Totem of the Feral

Elder Animist Muada says 'I am honored to have had the opportunity to observe you -- a feral champion for the ills that have befallen our kind. You have certainly made your name known among us. While the spirit world is not freed from danger, it is much more promising with all that you've done. Take this token of our appreciation. It may not appear to be too much right now, but it will be very important should you [wish to continue to walk among the elders] of the lords of beasts.'

I am thinking that after all elders are found that you will need to go back to mauda.  it seems that he is calling them all together since so far their messages point to them going back to seeing mauda.  in addition, he points out that "you" are becoming more like the elders everyday.  so, when done with elders, going back to join their meeting as an "elder" to learn what must happen seems to be a reasonable path of the quest.

The OT NPC does not have "Elder Animist" in his name at all. That should probably be removed from your guide. Otherwise, very neat and well done.

Just a note: I posted the info about the Cazic Thule mob, but information on this one is sketchy at best. If the loc is correct, it looks like the mob is in the water pits beneath the four-corners temple beyond the maze; this is the highest-level and by far the most dangerous area of the zone. Many mobs here see invis, there are casters of every variety, and it's generally a scary place.

This mob is NOT confirmed by me or anyone I know personally; it's just something I heard in the serverwide channel. The Jaggedpine spawn, on the other hand, is definately present and the loc is correct.

QuotePiece #3: Plane of Disease - Roaring Grass (PoP) Ground Spawn - Found on the floor of PoD castle at loc (p) 1777 , (p) 65. Word has it you have to get the key to get into the castle this far.

I duoed (with cleric) Gryme for the key. It's at p65 p1777 (reverse of up top there). It's behind the locked door AND behind the Spider Queen. She is rooted. You can pull her two guards killed them. Then pull guards behind her kill them. Then try and run by. I did it with a group. Warrior engaged, SK kited adds, druid evaced us out once i got the piece. It was directly past Spider Queen and to the left.

Be very careful trying to just run past the spider. She has an AE that, among other things, will snare you. If you get snared, and then stunned by a lucky hit from her, you'll probably die before you get away from her melee range (which is considerable).

The Cazic Elder is confirmed. The loc won't help you much.

Screenshots will be posted soon, but the gist is that he's found in the water pools beneath the temple beyond the maze. If you've ever been to Four Corners, you know the area. The temple is a pain in the ass to climb up; at the top, there's a small entranceway guarded by a Thule Lizard. Below that are several rectangular pits filled with water -- this is hard to explain. The ogre NPC is found in one of these pits.

Oh, and bring a gate item. You don't want to try getting out of here by running it.

In CT the NPC's name is Ikpug Giblod.

Do not go down to the bottom water area or u will not be able to get back up.  The NPC is in one of the water tanks embedded in the concrete walkway that is suspended mid way ish inside the temple/pyramid.  It is the SE corner tank.  Be sure you have a way to gate out because once you jump in to talk to him you cannot get out.

You say, 'why will it have to wait?'

Can we get this changed?  Firstly I found it very confusing with the locs u used, in game is was the other way round (p) 1777, (p) 65.  I'm not sure if the rest of the locs are the wrong way round too, but I know this one was.

Also yes you do need the key, I killed gryme with 66 necro, cleric, myself.  One thing not mentioned was Aramin, the spider queen bitch.  I had nfc what to do when I got to her because I knew I didn't have what it took to kill her.  So I think something needs to be written in here saying u can kill the 2 trash mobs next to her, then the 2 guards behind her, then theres 2 more trash mobs after that, then your clear to run past her because shes perma rooted and the key is just on the left on the floor at the end of the corridor.

Don't want people getting discomforted when they see her and think wtf do I do now how do I get past her.

I'm tired so that was written out in a very poor fashion but I hope at least you can understand what I said so something useful can be added.

Haha, Lyono thats pretty sketchy what u put, especially with what I was trying to emphasise.

I was trying to highlight the fact that you don't need to kill Aramin and can just pull the trash and once trash is dead your free to run past her and pick up the groundspawn.

On an additional note if your are insistant on killing her, she has a chance at dropping the book for the Oracle robe quest which sells from anywhere between 200-400k on my server, so that may be an incentive for others to come help you.  (Altho I'm not sure what repop on her is so maybe when u go to pick yours up she might not be up anyway)

Does this sound like the PoP zone PoAir?  Maybe one of the mobs at the area where you use the key to get up to Xegony?

If not that, then how about Wall of Slaughter in OoW?  It has a small raid killable NPC (forget name) and this would be about the right difficulty to finish 1.5 epic......

i think one key here is that the text sai "At the eye of the storm in the sky" not "IN" , also since Time and Abysmal are the only zones that i know of that has a storm in the sky /shrug this hurts my head ...also sine the Savage hunter in Gunthank dosen't take the essence to release it what about the one at the lighthouse? the one we got our spell from? he was a bst too.  I also remember some text somewhere about releaseing spirits..tho after so many hours strait researching it's all blured and have no clue who/what/when/where it was.  blah....

I suspect a lot of people are going to be very unhappy if the Epic 1.5 (for whatever class) requires elemental flagging (or god forbid, Time flagging).

Not that this affects me personally, but it would be nice if those folk who are guildless or in family guilds could have a shot at completing their Epic 1.5.

If you have done the epic up to this part you can determine if the clay is for us by giving it to Muada.  If it is for this step Muada will not accept the trade.  The trade window will remain open and you will get a Red text message to the affect that you need to turn in all quest pieces for this step at the same time.

Well, judging from Vahlar's post I would say it is not bugged, we simply have not done what is required yet.

Gunthak and the drogma just do not fit the clue much at all even though the drop from him does.  I could be totally wrong as I have been before though (I thought it was the Eternal Spirit in Sky).

The location clue seems to be "At the eye of the storm in the sky".  I have tried to break this down in many ways.

It could be the Eye of Veeshan but unless Veeshan was once known as "the storm in the sky" then I don't think so.

The eye of the storm is the center of the storm which could indicate the center of the plane of storms or the bastion of thunder.  The eye of storm is also usually calm with only light winds and no rain if that helps any.

The text also clearly states "storm in the sky".  No I am no expert but there aren't that many kinds of storm that are not in the sky so I believe the use of the word sky is an important clue.  So if in fact "eye of the storm" is the location then "in the sky" could suggest we are dealing with a flying creature.  Or it could simply suggesting a specific type of storm, such as hurricane, tornado or typhoon.

I believe the rest of text describes the creature itself but once we have the location right, the creature should be pretty obvious.  I am gonna try a few theories tonight.  Good luck everyone!

Gunthak was the heaviest hit zone from the great storm that wrecked the ships there.  Therefore, the center of that storm.

Gunthak is on Norrath, Norrath is in the sky if you're on Luclin.

Again, that could be wrong.

It's close enough, given the item. We need to concentrate on who the item should be given to. Another round of tracking looking for beastlord-esque mobs, perhaps?

Hello all,
I had an idea tonight concerning Ikpug Giblod in Cazic Thule. I figured since its a pain to get there, and they don't despawn right away, maybe you can do a few turn ins before they pop.

Well, I was willing to risk my letter, and Zordan (The Beastlord in CT with a group) allowed me to join up.

We cleared the way to the top, levitated down to the SE corner. Zordan did his turn in first and his speech. I then handed my envelope and did my speech. Both of us got the signature.

Just a bit of info for anyone not wanting to do it over and over.

By the way, centers of storms, or eyes, do not have any destruction happening.  In real life, they are calm, eerily so.  So the thoughts of Gunthak being the eye because of it being hit the hardest really dont make all that much sense in the real world terms.

Quote from: CillianFVWell, judging from Vahlar's post I would say it is not bugged, we simply have not done what is required yet.

Gunthak and the drogma just do not fit the clue much at all even though the drop from him does.  I could be totally wrong as I have been before though (I thought it was the Eternal Spirit in Sky).

i aggre that this is probably not bugged, what i do NOT aggre on is that the Drogmore is wrong. Gunthak might not be the "eye of the storm" but the drogmore fits the mob discription to a "T".

reread the whole task once again :

Quote from: MuadaAt the eye of the storm in the sky, there are rumors of a hungry beast. It was once a surmountable spirit, but it has learned and aged and grown too powerful to tame. Its spirit is imbued with a feral force that must be reclaimed by a beastlord. You must release the savage energy it has absorbed and return it to me. we will return it to the spirit world at once....."
[/size]
now a break down of the clues:

1: "eye of the storm" = go somewhere that is at the eye of a storm, the "eye" of any storm is completly calm and peacefull with the winds and destruction all circeling around it. I doubt even PoStorms is correct as it has only one storm and no eye to it and it itself is a zone of storms also no eyes.

2: " in the sky" = Norrath is in the sky from Luclin.

3: "a hungry" = the mob is hungry or starved or in some way in need.

4: "beast" = the mob is an animal, could bea "monster" accoring to kazam but definately an animal of some sort, wolf, griffon, lion, drogmore, hourse, dragon, ect ect.... it will unlikely be anything undead/inorganic/summoned/ect ct.

5: "once surmountable" = was at one time tame, controleable. It is not now.

6: "learned and aged" = this is older than otehrs of it's kind and smarter as well

7: "too powerful to tame" = a high level, again it could have been tamed once but now cant. (i also think about any of our warders when i hear this)

8: "its spirit is imbed with a feral force" = a feral force has added itself to this beast essence.

9: "Must be reclaimed by a Beastlord" = a bst must get this feral force back. this could mean that a bst must loot the essence from the mob ( well duh this is for the bst epic  :P ), or that the droped item must be given to a beastlord.

10: "you must" = meaning something you as the quest doer must acomplish.

11: "Realease the savage energy" = the savage energy that has atached itself to the beasts' essence must be removed.

12: "return it to me" = once the savage energy has been released you must return it to him ( the energy that was released not the essence that had the energy in it)

13: "we will return it to the spirit world at once" = all that energy gets to go back to the spirit world where it can live happily ever after..till some vile vilan summons it to this harsh relm for some melignant pourpose.

hope that helps you satrt to sort out this mystery. i firmly belive that the Drogmore is correct, reaserch the lore of the zones that might help you doubters. what we need to find is the beastlord that you give the feral essence to, to get back the savage energy. Or lacking that find what we ourselves have to do to realease the energy..tho i think it's morew some other bst want to reclaim the essence..maybe this is his lost drogmore?

whatever the case the "release the savage energy" sounds too much like a step in this process to be ignored (which alot of us have done).

all npcs in Shar Vhal have returned the essence when given to them, as well as the guys in Dranik Scar. Going to try Gunthak, and then Abysmal sea, and then the bazzar, and then pok, and then every other zone i can think of that there might be a realeaser of energy or bst that wants to reclaim some essence.

For S&Gs sake has anyone thought about Feral Lord Gulok (http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=12303) in Veksar? Was just there tonight for the first time and my buddy mentioned his name. Would be quite a stretch based on the text but some might fit. Dunno the whole history of Veksar. The warrior epic apparently has a mob in this zone but is a new mob. Didn't see anything funky on track. Did see a red con (Dru is 63) but can't remember the name; am tired. Didn't strike me as being Bst related though.

These are grasping at straws... but since we are stuck..anyone try giving the essence to..

1. The spirit guy who starts the finger bone cycle
2. one of the droggy gnomes at the lighthouse
3.  The female just out side the droggy pen that say something like, she will punch you in the face if you don't leave her alone..

Pretty far fetched.. but worth a try

not that I want to further derail this with storm details, but since there have been a couple of hurricanes lately I also heard some info about em and the storms "eye", yes its might be calm right in there, but it MOVES and right at the edge to the eye are strongest most destructive winds - hard to get into the eye without facing the destructive winds before

I think Mahes pretty much summed the status up atm.
Title: Shammy Epic..
Post by: jitathab on September 21, 2004, 09:12:05 AM
Ok I know not all epics will follow the same pattern however consider the Shaman epic which might answer some of the above riddle.

PArt of the quest is to kill a new mob in Umbral Planes that will drop a shaman thing that then pops a chest to be looted, only when the shaman loots.

This would type of feature would support Siodan idea at point 9 above

Quote
9: "Must be reclaimed by a Beastlord" = a bst must get this feral force back. this could mean that a bst must loot the essence from the mob ( well duh this is for the bst epic  ), or that the droped item must be given to a beastlord.

I believe we are looking for a new spawn mob, and one that is 2-3 groupable. Or a mob that is triggerable from component dropped.
The only existing mob I know of that could at a push be made to fit the description is Eashen of the Sky - the dragon in NToV.

Other idea is that this mob is only visable during certain times of the day - or maybe even a certain weather event.  This technique has been used before in the Coldain ring quests - a ghost is only visable at night. [/quote]

God I hope that's not the case.  Would've thought SoE learned their lesson about putting epic mobs that deep in Sky from the poor magicians having to goto Isle 7 there.  I shudder at the thought of those 2 and 3 day raids again.

Anyways, I don't think it adds up that "Eye of Veeshan" would be our epic mob.  The name itself implies servitude, that being the drake serves Veeshan as an observer, spy, or even loyal follower.  What we're looking for is a creature who is wild, untamed, and likely too powerful for it's own good.

Couple of things here guys n gals... I've been doing epic mobs the last couple of days for my guild members and I am getting the idea that the Swirling Essence from the drogmar might be a key item to spawning the mob that we need. "reclaim by a beastlord" and "release" it and bring it back just says to me there is something that we are not seeing... i think maybe we are looking to hard for this "eye" part and need to be focusing on what we have.... we can bring the PoN essence to M and he says the famous "this isn't everything i asked for mr.beastlord" so... thinking the swirling is a trigger.... id say start looking for more Dark blue quest mobs and hailing them... because we are coming to realize the new system, hidden flags and mobs only respond to certain classes when hailed, thus the tormented scout in bloodfield. It could quiet possible be that we just need to turn in the swirling to a npc and he does a tag on it and it changes to something else and that is the turn in for M. We were doing so well, then people just started focusing on a sentence.... lets get creative, i mean these items aren't hard to come by so lets start looking for more NPC's and hailing them... try Dulak's Harbor, there is a ogre on a boat that is new... check the "stormrider" boat... the "eye" could just be a look out on the "storm"rider... get creative people and lets get over this speed bump. /salute

Check a dictionary. The first definition is going to define a muzzle as an animal's snout, which is what fits in this context.  The secondary defition of anti-biting restraint type of muzzle isn't exactly standard riding gear anyway.

I cannot help but look at the following sentence over and over again : "It was once an surmountable spirit, but it has learned and aged and grown too powerful for anyone to tame".

To me, this more less clearly implies that we have to look for a mob that has been in the game before OOW and has recently been re-vamped -- i.e. this leaves OOW zones out.

Straw-Grasping as well here however.

[Posted the following in another thread ]

Quote from: Plumps KloWould be kinda odd, however:

the monk epic mob that swims inside the lava pool in lavastorm (and is spawned by hailing an imp and saying a key sentences, cannot remember wording, been a while) ... he
- is a spirit
- was once surmountable

Maybe hailing the imp and saying the key sentence by a beastlord will spawn the mob we are looking for?

Hiya all, just dropped by to see how you Beastlords are progressing and thought I may be able to help.

I've looked through some of the posts concerning your epic and think that I've seen a mob that may fit the description.  It was a level 65 wolf type mob in Maidens Eye, I don't recall the name - but it was certainly not there before OOW was released.

I've just logged back in to check, but it isn't up at the moment - a spectral wolf or ravenous beast was up in its place.  The loc is -127, -747.  It was stood almost directly under the flame pit thingy in the centre of the zone.

Can't find any mention of this mob on the other EQ sites, maybe its a rare or triggered spawn?

Sorry if this information has been posted elsewhere, I hope it proves useful.

CONFIRMED: pon and me drop the two parts required for this stage.

Gimme a couple mins to type the text lol.

Upon handing him both Darkened Spirit Essence(ME) and Disturbed Beast Essence(PoN) Muada says the following:

Ah, that troubled wolf harbored a strange mix of spirits that were too volatile to control. I think we are beginning to understand the problem more. The energy from the Realm of Discord is tainting some wild creatures. From what we've learned, creatures with some age and wisdom behind them are most susceptible. It seems we cannot save them all, but we must release their spirits into the ethreal wilds of Norrath so they can be free and no longer [tortured and ruined.]

You say, "tortured and ruined?"

We are hearing of more of our respected spirits that are becoming prey to the chaotic magic from Discord. Should you continue, it will be a step on the walk to a [greater calling] -- to walk with the Elders in the name of beasts of every ilk, to rescue there spirits from eternal pain and corruption.

You say, "greater calling?"

Irionu Bastun has discovered another spirit that suffers.

You receive Note to Irionu

Trying to remember some lore. Shiera's correct that the goblins had been splintered into 4 tribes. 3 races of elves (not counting the sand elves) but not sure as they were ever considered as one. Inny's experiments created the dark elves. There were 5 tribes of Iksar so that's an unlikely idea, but on that track if it turns out to be items rather than a people, the tribal medallions (of the VP key quest) could be considered as a 'they' that were each split into 3 parts.

If you read EQ lore the elves were once one race.  The elves first broke into high elves and wild elves, then the high elves broke again into dark and high making 3 races. I am not saying it is the answer, however it would make logical sence.

Just a thought, but has anyone thought that maybe this is an item that is made from combining 3 pieces to form one and then turned in? Just notice how it says-- They were one that splintered in to three, maybe its not even text that you must say to him as the last riddle. Looking from the other posts and such that is the only thing I can think of that would possibly be if not certain text. Good luck to those trying, I am almost there, working on the ME piece atm. Hope we get this thing soon, cuz I am in dire need of a weapon upgrade

I can see that you tried water, but water is only it's base form...here is a little history I gathered on Norrath:

The third element, Water, he determined would need many forms. For this element he took the portion and split it into three. Tarew Marr would be responsible for Water, the main state of the element which would give life to his worlds. E'Ci would lord over water in it's solid state, Ice, and the order and preservation it brought. Finally, Povar would lord over Steam, and that of life in motion. These three took their portion and cloaked each world with it's life giving touch.

credit to: http://home.comcast.net/~dfj21/history1.htm#_THE_CREATION

Perhaps WATER did not work because it is only the main state of the element, perhaps the answer is..... water, ice and steam

worth a shot!
Will keep searching on this end.

what about the Triumvirate of Water: Tarew,  Mithaniel and Erollisi Marr

QuoteTarew Marr, keeper of water, The Fathom Lord, Ruler of the Triumvirate of Water. The Fathom Lord or, as he is known in the divine tongue of Influence and Nature, Tarew Marr, is the first member of the Triumvirate of Water. He is the sole lord and commander of the plane's most abundant form of the element. The people of Norrath know little of him, and his relationship to Mithaniel and Erollisi Marr is a source of constant debate amongst their followers.
He is believed to have given physical form and intelligence to the influences of Love and Valor in the personages of Erollisi and Mithaniel Marr, respectively, and given them power over their namesake planes.

It seems we're talking about water there...

there are a lot of ways you could take splintered so I would do it litereally. i.e. branched - like the elves branched off of each other.

I do have an off topic question. I have killed the sphinexs hundreds of times for the SK epic (i think it was SK). So how do I get faction back with them or has all that been changed?

unfortunately this was said before I had heard this riddle, so I payed little attention to the name.  If memory serves me correct, at least one was in UPlains.  They were definately mobs new to OoW.  I will definately be asking when i see him on again.

Man/human/mankind has issues too, as they didn't necessarily split into 3, but actually into 4...Barbarians, Humans, Erudites, Heretics(AKA Evil Erudites).

Not disputing that it might be the right answer, but almost every story which talks about humans splitting in EQ lore also includes the Erudite split as well.

New to the boards here, but just wanted to point out that the person we are looking for, for the final battle will most likely be the afore-mentioned chap in The Bloodfields. Seeing as he only responds to a Beastlord this seems the perfect place to start. Also well done on finding the wolf in Maidens, I had seen him as I was training through the other day but didn't stop for a closer inspection. I am currently doing my epic all out of order as I was following along with the original threads.

Have already taken out the Drogmor, heading to Maidens tomorrow morning, just missing the ground spawn in Disease and will call my guildie for that one (I like to have a full force: we might as well just kill Grummus while we're there for the hell of it anyway).

Anyway yeah definately someone who is up to the hand in point go speak to the guy in the Bloodfields. All the final battles seem to be in OoW zones. Be wary though from the other epic guides it seems the final battles have all had a single mob who cons RED to a level 70, and they hit like a freight train (3500 x 4).

Both probably soloable in elemental gear, but I mistimed a pet heal on the first one and was buffing for a second try when a Mage guildie came out to help - fairly easy fight with two of us. (although the mage was summoned and killed.)

The second sphinx I had me, a Cleric and the Mage - that was massive overkill.

Post by: Essant on September 27, 2004, 07:41:51 AM
Yea, dont underestimate the Sphinx's solo .. they are pretty tough and have a boat load of hit points.

You dont need a group or a raid but I doubt soloable unless you are Time + GoD geared beastlord with something better than DPoC as your pet foci.

Bascially the way i did them is 2-box me and my friends 65 mage.

Pet tanks, mala, slow .. mage burns down chain casting, and me i sit on my horse with C and SD and keep my pet alive.

Pets fully equipped with mage gear, etc .. phantom plate .. bla bla and all buffed.

Odd note on the first sphinx, and WATCH for this:

Brother Z tried to assist me .. which was kinda of cool and kind of NOT cool because as you know if an npc or mob gets a kill shot on a mob, you cant loot.

So basically i just let him for a while.  Bro Z tanked the sphinx, he out agroed my pet .. and i put my pet on Bro Z .. end result is he pummeled the mob down about 50% for me by the time I killed him, then I just finished off the sphinx.  Kinda neat.

**Oh and these mobs SUMMON if you cast on them, non damaging spell or NOT** so forget about pulling with slow**

10-15 min fight 2boxing these things each.

----

ME camp was by far the worst.  Total of 10 hours spent there over the course of 2 days, 1st spawn happened about an hour into the first day - no drop.  4 hours later, no spawn again and had to leave.  Second day, same thing almost, about an hour into camp, named spawned - no drop, 4-5 hours later, named spawned again, this time drop.  Timed?  Beats me, probably just my dumb luck but all i did was focus on the 3 spawns in that little piece of the fire pits.  Boring ass waste of time, and really annoying.  Good news is I made 4-5% straight xp at level 68 =/

---

After that it was mostly downhill until now.  Some 50ish druid was killing the stalkers in PoN when I went in and was kind enough to leave some corpses for me ..

---

Drog was easy, was up when I got there .. 2 box burned him down cake.

---

Thanks to my brothers on the Rathe, my fellow beastlords:  Battlesaur, Simpleybad, and Volkken namely, some day we are gonna have to end up all in the same guild and really cause some damage.  Appreciate all the help you have given me.

Next day or so I rally the guild and finish this thing heh.

No, they don't.  Like all summoning mobs, you can cast all you like and not get summoned as long as they haven't been damaged.  (I pulled with slow on both of them without being summoned.)

I would guess he was at less than 100% health, then.  (It doesn't matter who did the damage, as long as the mob has been damaged.)  The second try on the first sphinx, I cast seven or eight times on him from well out of melee range while pulling to make sure I established aggro over the Mage - I was never summoned.

Never summoned me before I did any damage (pulled with slow, added 2 incaps for healthy aggro before it got to me), but I tanked it the whole time so I never even saw it summon at all.  Works like any summoning mob it seems ...

Yea, that was probably it.  Thanks.  Wiped the first time on the second sphinx and had to recover meself and hte mage, now that i think about it he wasnt fully regened by the time I got back to pull again.
Title: PoD Ground Spawn
Post by: Meeshna on October 04, 2004, 07:57:11 AM
First I want to thank those that contributed so far.  This information has been very helpful.

Second, in getting the ground spawn in PoD I just want to remind folks that Gryme does have a nasty DoT that will eat your group up if you aren't paying attention.

Third, I went into PoD with WAR, CLR, DRU x 2 and myself (67 BST) and when it came to the spider, we had the WAR pull the mobs in and around the spider.  Because he got agro on her from the start, when it came time for me to run past her to get the ground spawn, she didn't even know I existed, she was still ticked off at the WAR in my group.  This made it easy for me to just walk on past her to pick it up and walk on back to the group stress free.  Just thought this might be a tactic to try if you don't want to or can't rely on an evac'r.

I am a Cat if that makes any difference , but maybe Diddugu has been patched to indiferent

Any further info on this fight?? WHat lvl are the Adds? How many people needed Ect...

I personally did it two box with my mage and a friend cleric of mine. Used mage geared level 46 or 49 whichever level the pet is and put sow on him as well. first time he got eaten. reequiped, rebuffed sent it in again. that time nabbed him alone and just brought him down. no adds no mess. got a chest with a nice BST useable belt. Its not a tuff fight, just have patience on the pet pulls and you'll be fine. btw i had pet focused with dpoc.

Also assuming you have Suspend Minion 2 as well. cuz your lil pet will go down fast. mage pet tanked while i resummoned the higher level pet. good luck

The sphinxes weren't easy solo'd but were not THAT bad, then again i have a moderate amount of aa's + mostly elemental gear.  Improved healing tribute plus my healing aa's made a large difference (I think i critted 2 or 3 times for 1659 healed on both fights).

I just tanked for the pet and tab healed myself between his swings, i dont think i was interrupted once on a heal.  Of course my personal dps went to hell but I did both sphinxes self buffed, fights were about 4mins or so for each because I got to /disc prot twice in both.  I just made sure to recast slow every 25% of his health or so to make sure I wouldnt be tanking him unslowed for much (if any).   I let the pet take some damage on the first sphinx to give me some extra time to heal myself and used pet mend but otherwise didnt have any pet heals up.

The DS girplan fight I duo'd with a friendly druid who harmonied the 2 most northern adds and then I pet pulled with the 54 pet (with 9/sv/alladnu/calliav/sow) and got the named single.  He staggered off during his death march and I got 2 adds during this, but finished him off and then tethered off the adds.   Thanks to all the information on this board this all went very smoothly.  Chest spawned after I looted and dropped some caster 105hp sleeves, so wasnt a total waste of time for my buddy.

Just done epic upto final fight ... soloed everything except Sphinxes and Girplan (half elemental/half ornate equipped)

Was wondering about the final fight how many people needed and what lvl of equipment? heard some rumours that needed 30 time/qvic equipped people now is this true?

If you fight the fight stand up, you will need 5 9k+ Knights/warriors and one 10k+ warrior, 6 clerics, a few spot healers, Massive ranged dps, etc...

Most with less than 30 ppl fail.

The tanks have to be top notch if going offtanking for Final Fight, the dps can be whatever... as long as tehy have their nukes/arrows strong as they can get them.

It can be done with about 3 groups if you use the Extreme FD pulling strat and get the Animist solo.

However none of this will matter, as next patch day everything changes....   a new version of the fight is currently on test.

Hi guys. I have a question.

I got the letter from Rashara (Part 5) and headed to try and kill Griplan in Draniks scar with guildies.

As we didnt have enough peeps we failed to kill him and so ive lost my letter to give to Yerika Sisslak to respawn Griplan.

I have gone back to Muada and then to Jp but Rashara never is up - am I doing something wrong here? How do I get another letter from her please? Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

yes. since rashara in JPF doesnt despawn, ever, you are looking for her in the wrong spot. CHECK YOUR LOC OR BRING A TRACKER.

Actually, yes she will despawn when someone turns in the Letter from Muada, just like all the other elders do when turning in the letter. I left her on target just to see when I turned in my letter and she disappeared from my target within about a minute. I believe they are on a 2 hour respawn after someone turns in the letter.

The Frantic Ravenous Beast actually spawns ON the pad the Fire Pit is located on in Maiden's Eye.

There are four quarters to the pad and one of them has a beast standing on it. Don't make the mistake we did and pull wolves and beasts from all over the zone to get it to spawn. Sit on the pad and kill the beasts as they spawn on it..

Also, don't stand out on the edge of the pad...the mobs in the zone walk right past the pad edge and will aggro anyone sitting out there...before you know it the one mob you were fighting can turn into five to six.

If you bring friends along, make sure one is a pally. The mobs here are mostly undead.

they are up for a few hrs then down for a few hrs, think it is 2 hrs spawned, 2 hrs despawned.

You probably completed the fight near the end of her time being up and they despawned during the fight.  Go back in a few hours and do the turn in when they respawn.  Same thing happened to me on the RCoD fight.
Title: Re: Combined post of all Epic 1.5 Info (will keep updated)

Correct. If Yerilka isn't up after your fight, it just happened to be despawn time in the cycle. Come back 2 hours later to do your turnin.

RCOD is similar except that the turnin to start the fight causes Erana to despawn and resets the cycle. She's always down when the fight is done. Once again, come back 2 hours from your turnin time to find her up.

I just beat DDA and got the 1.5 in less than 4 days and i'm confirming that Erana Ferral is up for 20-30 minutes and down for two hours.

It's sort of aggrivating, I just now beat DDA and have to wait 2 hrs before i can get my epic but atleast i beat him and am soon gonna have that epic in my hand.

I'm about ready to do teh girplan and DDA, and wondering if/how many friends I need.

Cheers for any help,

My makeup for both:
(an 80 shaman may have been following us out of group, I forget.))
Girplan:

80 paladin, 80 druid, 77 bard, 71 bard, 76 necromancer, 72 Beastlord (me)

DDA:
80 paladin, 80 druid, 75 wizard, 72 bard, 76 necromancer, 74 Beastlord (me)

we were going to try to charm kite the adds on the girplan fight... the paladin got bored, rushed the entire spawn, asked why the named wasn't going down, and proceded to quickly kill the entire 11 adds....

the DDA fight was similar, but the other 5 set up in the room before me, I spawned the DDA after they cleared the adds, the druid was in the wrong spot, and drew aggro,  but paladin saved her, and they did about 10% damage to each of the critters with 40% of the damage to one of the adds by the time I got there.  I invised, headed there, and it took about 5 minutes'ish? I dunno, short fight, to kill everything, no fancy pulls, just zergfest.

Just 2 or 3 points I noticed along my was doing my 1.5.:

1) At the final hail to Irionu  the Beastlords Den walk throuh says you need to rehail him.  You just give him the note.

2) In the walk though you do not mention that you need to go Kill the  Delirious Drogmor in Gulf of guntak (loc -2277.+3235-- due south of Dulak harbor zone line--- near castle). Loot the Swimming Feral Essence from him to give to Irionu.

3) Your link to how to get to Ikpug is broken I had to have help.  Even alla is no help in this regard.

I am kind of excited-- ATM i am sitting in hot tub in Gh waiting for  group to come and help me with final fight :)
