I brought 3 stacks of healing potions and got buffed up and decided to try C1. I was able to kill pretty easily there as long as I used a heal pot each fight. I was getting 7% a kill so I will definetely be coming back here more often. With 25 more AAs I can get 2 more mana regen and 4 more hp regen so ill concentrate on those as well as getting as many DoD upgrades as I can before I return.

I am still a quite a bit undergeared for C1 but with the help of potions it's not too bad. Main issue I have is mana regen and dps. I can't regen mana very fast even with SA and KEI pots and it can take 3-4 minutes per fight. Once I get the 70 pet and the 68 DoD pet that will help a bunch as well as getting some more offensive AAs. I am going to get Sinister Strikes and Fury of magic 3 and start on my healing AAs soon so this should help a lot, though the healing AAs wont put out any more DPS. The other main problem is the 1hb I use has a fire based proc which is useless against mobs in Plane of Fire. I am gonna try and get a weapon with the same ratios and a different proc which should also help.
aye.. having one of the procs be ineffective sucks.
for a while, I was having to use one potion/kill. Now (more avoidance & few more defensive AAs), its lot better. All of the spell aas were capped by then.
Getting your proc dpsing again will help a lot and of course the wonderful wonderful taps ;p
while tru that the healing aas wont help you dps as hard, it will lessen the time that you have to spend healing yourself.
I do tend to kill the first few mobs pretty quickly and then start to slow down into a groove with slightly slower kills, since I tend to burn thru mana a lil fast on first few, and then just go into ostrich mode (turn on attack & look away) when I hit 2m so I can med it back up again.
Yeah having a fire proc is useless there but I can probly solo or at worst 1 group the named horse near the zone in that drops the h2h weapon with pet proc. There is also a h2h weapon thats a random drop in 69.1 so I could just form a few kite groups and farm one.
As for defense I have all my defensive AAs pruchased through PoP and have 10 avoidance from the DoD ring. I plan to get the belt from 69.2 Hard soon which will get me to 20 avoidance. As for the OoW and DoD defensive I heard that they are 25aa for 2.5% and .75% which seems like a waste of 50AA or 100AA if you buy both avoidance and mitigation. Maybe after offense and healing AAs are done I might consider the OoW defensive but I will not pay 25aa for .75%.
I can usually kill the first 2 or 3 pretty quick then get low on mana and have to med 1-2 minutes. I use defense disc every kill and hit paragon and fury as often as I can which helps. If i could raise my Mana Regen from AA and gear it would help a lot though looking at it I am not sure that 10aa for 2 mana regen is worth it as thats only an extra 20mana each minute.
Yep, have to use a different weapon which i keep around for pofire only now, the proc on my tonfa just doesnt cut it there :(.
Joy is the day when you can clear both levels of C1 and have half the courtyard cleared before your lesson of devotion expires. I usally try to go there once a day to gain 3 aa's :-D
So, Kirish, does the Servent keep up the heals pretty good, or do you have to pop a potion once in a while?
Hmm never done C1 myself, used to do field 1 when I was doing gate necklace but not been back since as I didn't think I was well enough geared. Guess now I am though. Will probably end up going there each morning before work to use lesson if I give it a go :-D
I started going just under 6k unbuffed. I now hit 7071 unbuffed and have 30 avoidance and 1% shielding so getting easier for me. I also lucked out and won a 1hb with a cold based proc so i sold my gold dragorn mace back to the vendor and will use this instead. I still want to get the h2h from 69.1 since its proc is a 100 life tap instead of the stupid stun proc on claws which every mob i kill is immune to anyway.

I know some tanks that are using the big stun procs over hate procs now bcs of the agro.
Blows my mind seeing some monks with 2 stun procs on their epic 2.0

The MAJOR negative I see with the Barbed Chitin Hand Wraps from 69.1 is the slot is type 7. I can not add another life tap proc, type 4/8, so this will seriously drop my dps down. Gonna have to rethink this one and look around a bit more.

In the process of trying to get flagged here... my guild not quite there yet, and open raids rarely if ever do mini's or allow piggies. I wouldn't mind grinding in there... doesn't sound too bad at all.
With current gear I can only kill about 8-9 every 30 min as it takes about 2 min per kill and after 3 or 4 it takes 2-3 min inbetween to med up. With Vet on I can make a little over an AA in 30min which is nice. With a few more upgrades, pet offensive, healing AAs and a bit more defensive and this will go up. I figure another 100-150 AA and this zone will be super easy for me.
I honestly prefer grouping in 69.1 Hard. I can a full group of pet classes with a ranger or druid as a puller and I get 6% a kill with a full group compared to 7% a kill solo in PoF. I can typically make about 3-5aa per mission here and very quickly with a great group. With a high dps group I can make 3-5aa in about 2-2.5 hours. Drops are worth 7pp-300pp, pages that can be sold in bazaar for up to 10k, random drops like 60hp augs, caster belts, melee necklaces with fero 1, etc.
I have probly made about 60-70aa in this mission alone in the last few weeks. It's great as you don't need a healer or tank just need a kite group. First pull is a little tough but you can either have a necro feign death it or have everyone in the group invis and then have the puller bring em near the zone line, snare one, and zone out. The two non snared mobs will head back to the camp then you can just kite the third.
I am not sure what the minimum level is but I have brought level 65s here before and they made excellent experience. A level 67 I brought here gained about 1% a kill and 2% reg with vet. He went from 67 to 69 in one mission after popping vet aa.
I've kited that mission a bunch of times as well... and the exp rocks for the amount of effort. Need to find something for solo times though, and thought fire was just as good a place as any :) Have heard wonderous things about it. Still no luck getting flagged... but some day soon I suppose.
aye... that's the point... if u can get a crew together, 69.1 = hella great xp for the effort.
But then again, getting a group can't always be the easiest thing in the world... or ur feeling like a curmudgeon & just wanna solo some. And for the effort involved, c1 is abt as good as it gets really.
Lately I've been focusing on getting DoD groups together to try and get my progression done... still only have 68.1, 68.5, and 69.1 done. Just can't seem to catch a break lately. Solo has been trying to get through the stupid tier two DoN tasks... only need a few more Kirans now :wink: Basically right now if its a group its to finish my arc, I at least want the 68 spell, solo will probably finish up tonight, and search for a piggie to get flagged for the good solo exp when I kill that last stupid goat.
Out of curiousity has anyone been experiencing or had problems with the birds warping to you in the middle of C1 as you kill? Had this happen to me twice now, once just one of them and then the other day I had 2....

Well my gear has increased by quite a bit since coming here but I still lack the 70 pet and DoD pet. With both of these and a bit more AA I am sure I can burn through quite a bit more in 30 minutes. I have 68.1, 68.2 and 68.4 but am so far unable to get 68.3 and 68.5 to finish the pet. I have finished 70.1-70.4 and 69.1 and 69.2. Fully buffed with Conviction, Wunshi, SV, and the shaman sta buff I am just under 11k fully buffed. After I finish raiding this weekend I plan to get another 15aa or so and start maxing my healing AAs. Hopefully in two weeks I will have Healing Adept and Healing Gift both maxed.
Well had birds agro another 2-3 times. Just had to turn my PC off as I became the permanent toy of Jaxoliz. Seems that it is randomly linked to mobs in C1 since they normally agro just after i've cleared the huts. Never heard of this problem before but its ridiculous and will try and /bug it. Couldn't unfortunately do this when I was charmed =/
Well I now have the 70 pet and 70 fero spells as well as a kick ass 1hb weapon from MPG Endurance Trial. According to the calculator it added about 32dps. I also have all healing AAs through PoP and the first levels of Omens. I can't wait to try these out this weekend. I was critting for 775 with my new 1hb and getting lots of regular hits in the 300 range so maybe I can down 1 or 2 more in the 30min time frame with vet on. One thing I definetely need to do is purchase the 125tap from DoN and replace my current 75tap.
