This thread won't disappear off of my "new posts" list, yet it has no activity in it.
I tried posting in it, got a few errors, and finally got a post in it. Then I tried deleting the post (it was just a test dummy), got a few errors, and now it's deleted.
So I don't know. :-P
I also see that thread constantly. What's more, this thread seems to have the same problem.

It seems I can still post, but it throws the error regardless.

Sorted out some errors with the forums. Far as emails, I assume you tried the
[email protected] one listed as my msn? That one isnt' active cept for msn due to massive amounts of spam (account is pre-microsoft owning hotmail aged)

The hosting provider has some clients on my server that are overloading it and causing some issues. They are working on removing those troublemakers. Hopefully they do it soon and stop having the database server crash and corrupt a couple tables where online status of users is stored.

I remember that post. I hit the "post" button and ended up on an error screen, which does happen every once in a while.
I then used the "Back" button on my browser and tried to post again. This got me the "someone has been posting while you were writing your post - do you want to review?" screen. At this point I backed out completely and saw that the post was there after all. So the initial post had made it into the data base despite the error, but at that point something went wrong and bugged the thread.
Yeah, one of the not so important tables was corrupted. Enough it would spit errors on some things but posting still worked. Kind of annoying

Fixed again, the provider has been having some problems off and on last few months with the db crashing, one of the users is doing something funky.
This has started happening again, but I have my own theory as to why, and that it's a client-side issue. I'm not sure if it is for anyone else, so I figured I'd bump this.

It's not client-side...it's a database issue when Jaeren tries to update the forums against new types of spam attacks. Same basic issue as every time before from my understanding, and definitely server side.
I noticed it on Thanksgiving day, when I was running around between several houses. I figured it may have been something to do with being logged in from several addresses, but it's just coincidence.
this has been happening to me since the last downtime, although its been for all posts with activity since the downtime.
It was brought to my attention about this issue again. I'm trying to sort it out, however the fix I did last time isn't working this time :p
Ok, and after I posted that, it started to work fine again even though the db checks didn't show anything wrong. Sometime computers just suck :P
If it happens again, an easy way to get my attention is to just report the post and say it's doing it again, it'll email me and I'll notice it when I'm around again. Most days, I'm too busy to check all of my sites and since I haven't played EQ in a long time now (besides like a week this summer when they reactivated my accounts and I scared a few people in game), I don't always check this site more than once or twice a week. Most of the content is so removed from what I played, I'm out of touch.
