Title: Spell line up at 95 ... finally got all my spells
Post by: Askyn on July 15, 2012, 07:12:26 AM
Hi all /wave

I finally hit lvl 95, and just tonight got VoA language up to 50 and got the rest of my spells.

Here is what I think my line up should be, are there any comments or suggestions please?

1) Sha's Reprisal 2
2) Bale's Maelstrom
3) Frozen cyanin
4) Rotsil's Bite 2
5) Frostrift Lance
6) Binaesa Blood
7) Yahnoa's Feralgia
8 ) Scream at the Moon
9) Growl of the Lion
10) Empowering Warder
11) Exceptional Velosity
12) Shared Brutal Ferocity

I would love to hear any comment / feedback you might have.

Thank you.

For me...

1 - heal
2 - 70 slow
3 - new slow
4 - XXX at the Moon
5 - Feralgia
6 - Fero
7 - Poison nuke
8 - Maelstrom
9 - Frozen XXX
10 - New Ice Nuke
11 - Old Ice Nuke
12 - variable (generally pet heal)

For raids I swap out #2 to the new pet rune, and #12 to a dot.  I have a couple spell sets that will swap that last spell gem out w/ haste, SE, etcetera (so all I have to do is type "/mem haste" for example).

My setup works well with multibinds -7 through 12 are all set up so I hit Ctrl-~ and it casts the first one up, and this order works well to front-load dps but starts cycling w/ Cyanin quickly so my total # of casts is solid (i.e. every 2 seconds there's something to cast for a good while).  It leaves the manually-cast (via Alt-1/2/3/etc) spell gems close at hand for me as well.

For yours...

Dots are of poor utility in groups, I'd replace it w/ the previous ice nuke.
Growl is redundant since you have Feralgia up.
Haste is only used every hour, so it's taking up a slot you could probably use for something else
Emp. Warder - I'm just biased against this spell still, so I don't keep it up.

My raid line up is

1-SE
2-Growl
3-Yurv's Mending
4-Mending of The Izon
5-Emp. Warder
6-Shared Fero
7-Feralgia
8-Rotsil's Bite
9-Glacial Lance
10-Frostrift Lance
11-Bale's
12-Cyanin

This config allows for near constant nuking. On the odd occasion my all my nukes will be on cool down. I throw in a Feralgia then.

Emp. Warder can be useful if you solo a lot, but not necessary. I use it because our dots are generally useless for the most part. They are strictly circumstantial so that spell slot goes to a utility.

I keep Growl up for those times before we engage, and if swarm pets are more of a nuisance than a help.

My group config just swaps out SE for slow.

I haven't updated my mash keys in a while, what is the best current config to go with the 95 spell line-up?

I have everything in Rk II or II but still feel I'm not making the best DPS numbers I can (not talking burst here, just consistent DPS.

Using the the spell set that I posted above, I'll range between 17k-20k per fight solo.

I start by pulling with slow, run back to camp and cast feralgia, then nuke till dead. /rinse /repeat

This is an example of a shot solo session.

Are you using raid weapons? Raid spells? Raid focus?

My Magelo is current, it has all my weapons and focus effects, however a T4 group geared should come in around the 15-17k range easy.

Growl of the Lion is redundant as Khaur mentioned and I agree also with his comment on the haste. Lose one of those and add in Glacial Lance, I would also load your heal. If you are using a spellbind when burning I would make Frozen Cyanin your first nuke since it refreshes the quickest. On my spellbind I have spell slots 3-8 on it since it runs down the list spell casting startup kinda looks like 3-4-3-5-3 and then they are start blending as they start refreshing, rarely will all my nukes be grayed out together but that would be the only tme the dot would cast since it is last on the list.

For Raids:
1. Shas Legacy
2. Shared Fero
3. Frozen Cyanin
4. Rotsils Bite
5. Bales
6. Frostrift
7. Glacial Lance
8. Binaesa
9. Feralgia
10. Empower(can be swapped for whatever as needed)
11. SE
12. Heal

Grouping is mostly the same except I lose the dot and SE and add pet heal and ummm, something else I can't remember off hand. Khaur why two slows?

Resists and adds are more than frequent enough for me to want the second one up.  Certainly better than they used to be, but at the least it gets used far more than anything else I'd put in that slot (like SE, empowering, etcetera).

Two slows would be for when you are the only slower in the group so you can cast slows faster. The recast time on our slow spells (6 seconds) is significantly longer than the global recast lockout.

I used to do that a few years back. These days, if slowing is REALLY that important, I load the pet slow proc instead, which is quite effective -- it has a way better resist mod than player slows, especially on rank 3. Situational, of course.
