Prismatic/Chromatic Resists

Can anyone explain what these two types of resists are and what the difference between them is? I'm seeing these resists on a lot of GoD content and have no clue what they are.

Examples -
Swirling Matter - Prismatic
and
Dark Mass - Chromatic

one of them is the average of all your resists, the other one is your lowest resist

Prismatic is average of all resist

Chromatic is lowest resist.

I hate Chromatic resist checks. Especialy since most humanoid mob procs checks are chromatic and my poison resist is 50 points lower than anything else. I'm looking forward to the day where I can resist these consistantly. That will be a good day. :P
