Savage Lord Hunter in GoG?

I just started my Epic after getting my tailoring up.  Well, I camp the walrus.  No problem there.  I go to GoG, and hand the guy 3 unstacked blue diamonds and no leather swatch.  Did I miss something here? Or have others had the problem?  Is the guy broke?

have to have visited muada first and gotten to that part, if you aren't flagged to talk to him you won't get the item, found this out myself the hard way as well.

I have been to the guy.  I will go back through the starting sequence again to be sure though.  
 BTW. the SG camp on Saryrn took me 36 hours total camp time to pop the Walrus.  This was as of 2 days ago.  I may have just had bad luck since a guildy got the pop in 20min several days prior.

Got lucky on this one too, tried a couple times, killed probably an hour, twice. Third time I succored over and he was up, almost killed us though but a nice wiz in the area nuked him down cause we got him to like 10% before the monk FD'd and i had to zone with 5% health left.

Yes VERY important that you don't skip a single step in this epic quest.  You can not turn in  your essence's before you do all the dialoge and such or Muada will eat them and you will have to do it all over again.  Follow the walk-thru, do ALL the text, etc.
