This is what I got out of the thread: A few percetage points is not really statistically significant IMO.  So for all intents and purposes, our pets are comparable with mage's.  Our proc gives us a reasonable boost while their rogue pet backstab gave them their boost.

I would like to make one thing clear before these silly pet fights start (again):  The purpose of my little study was not to determine how beastlord pets are doing in comparison with mage pets. It's original focus was just on the actualy effectiveness of front/back attacks.

I added the beastlord warder parses ONLY because other people asked for them. Now regarding your procs: You will notice that i did not add summoned mage proc-weapons nor pet spell damage (although i have the info saved on my HD).

Proc-rates will be the focus for another study maybe, don't know yet...

Erased my comments because... they sounded a little peeved.

I will mention that your data is interesting, but, reading those mage boards usually make me upset at the large number of , oh how can i put it, people with a bone to pick on those boards, who take aim at anyone.

Your data confirms what i thought, which is mage pets were a little better than BL pets, and mages have a HUGE advantage over beastlords in burst damage, and a smaller but significant edge over beastlords in general in sustainable dps.

Beastlords have a HUGE edge over mages in utility, and survivability.

Mage pets are slightly better, but the best combo is to have both in a group ( as then the mage pet gets IoS and dex, which should increase proc rates , and the BL pet gets pet toys ).

You usually dont find beastlords complaining about mages.. we love having them in groups.  It usually goes the other way on the message boards, however, which usually cause me not to read mage boards.

Pet toys plz, k, thx. :D

Thanks for posting this, its nice seeing how the pets compare to each other DPS wise, from the front and back.

Nice information... thanks for posting... I'd be VERY interested in evaluations of the effectiveness of pet toys for Warders.  I myself find the haste mask and HP belt useful... but prefer to ubber dex my pet and use it's own proc over mage summoned weapons.  But truth is, I haven't seen any good tests to prove one way or the other is better.

cyc our pet will proc both his own native proc ( well the one we put on him ) AND one from mage toys.

Mage toyes are wonderful for out pets, all around.

This is actually great information.  Thanks very much for sharing it with us.

You know, it might be useful to have a post in the library with links to studies like this that were done on other boards.
