The first castle in Plane of Fire is often referred to as C1.  There is another castle deeper in that is referred to as C2.

Is plane of Fire  C1 is the part at the first castle after you climb the mountain and float over.

I concur, Fire C1 is good... or any of those spots.
73 pet has a monster HP upgrade.
It should be able to tank anything there and along with the efficiency of promised mending, at the worst you'll still have a viable pet cleric route.
