Am I the only one who's noticing that this spell doesn't seem to be absorbing any damage at all or am I just misunderstanding this spell?

On two major fights now I've had it on my pet and he's eaten all sorts of DoTs left and right and SG doesn't seem to mitigate any of it. Is this spell only effective against direct damage effects and not DoT effects (the majority of fights now have DoTs) or is this spell bugged?

In a way i think it would be kind of rare for a warder to be taking dd damge unless he is tanking. The level you have to be to get this spell would make this much less likely an occurance even though i have been playing with it in sunderock (mianly getting to grips with promised mending). If it doesnt cover dots then is it another half baked compromise thrown together without full forethought. At least make it a full spell coverage thing rather than a selective protection please devs !!
