Hi,

I have started back up on working on my 2.0 and I need to kill the Dismal Darkpaw Mystic in JP next to do the combine.

For those of you who have done this.. what do I need to bring as far as group?

Notice the date on my post in that thread you linked KK.  Take a healer of some sort and I think you'll be fine to duo.  To make it super gimp, bring another DPS and I don't think the fight would be in question at all.

I recently finished my 2.0, and went into that fight thinking that it would be as gimp as people have said it is.  The trouble is, he has a *huge* amount of hitpoints.  If you don't pace yourself on your healer, you will quickly run oom.  Also, I would suggest using our longer duration slow, since if it wears off, you will quickly get wtfpwned if you don't have a lot of defensives on your bst.

For my second attempt, I brought along an SK box as well as a cleric box. Popped infusion on all three which helped a lot, but still the fight is a little tiring.  I'm not saying he's extremely difficult or anything, but don't go into the fight thinking he's a complete pushover like the colonel or general.

For reference, I have about 9.3k hp unbuffed and 210 AA.

Thankies for the advice - I'm pretty sure I can at least grab a 71 clr and 71 mage to come help, but I'd rather be safe then sorry.. Ya just can't have to much dps...

As of last night, I can confirm that at least some of the villagers will help you against the Dismal Darkpaw Mystic.  Main problem I had was getting him to follow me out of the caves, once he was out I had to run around the village a couple of times and actually zone to BB before any of the villagers engaged on him, ultimately only 2 did, one soldier, and one ranger type who stand right outside the doors.  When I zoned back from BB he was engaged with the 2 villagers, from there the fight was fairly straight forward, keep him slowed, DPS him as mana allows.  2 villagers were enough to keep him from regening, seemed like the only time he lost % though was when I was directly DPS'ing him.  (Spells, BE pet, hand to hand fighting).  Occasionally had to back off to let the villagers re-gain aggro while I healed.  Was self buffed only, but had Infusion and Servent popped, battle took over 25 mins, so lost Infusion near the end, the DoT made life a lot more interesting at that point.  Think I may have gotten hit by the DoT twice while Infusion was active.

His corpse does stay there even though NPC's were attacking him.  Dunno if it was because I got the killing blow in, or because of the previously mentioned other script issues.

Hope this helps anyone who is thinking about solo'ing him.  Definitely would have been no problem with a decent healer along.

Ahh.. my mgelo so ya know how I'm geared.....
