Despite having almost every focus known to man, i dont have an extended buff duration item. ( Oh poor rich kitty , i know i know )

But currently my AOE SD fades about 11-12 min before the aoe refreshes.
Im only beast atm, and though its really not that big of a deal to just buff the grps it would be a small convience to be able to just AOE again.

My question is if i buy a ceramic shield of valor just for buffing or that ldon augment from takish camp is that quite enough to last till aoe timer pops?

Trahma

Sorry Konji, but the buff extender 4 wont cut it

And for the record - the 8th shawl doesnt cut it either :(

Mind you - I buff by groups and save mass for Paragon - guess FE has its clerics geared out enough to not need a shot every 15 minutes.  But at least I have found a guild that raids at my time - yay me - and it is about where FoV was 6 months ago - I keel da butterfly girl now !

Anyway - for the record

SD 45 minutes

SD SCR3 (30%) = 58.5 minutes
SD SCR3 ED4 (45%) = 65.25 minutes
SD SCR3 8th shawl (50%) = 67.5 minutes

So you see - even 20% item extension still falls short of the 72 min mass refresh.  For interest sake - it would require a 30% buff extension item along with SCR3 to drag SD out to 72 minutes.

Now if only BL got SCRM or the MGB reuse reducing AAs (or both)

Konji

Thanks Trahma.
(Btw what server did you move to again? AB? Zeb?)
Was gonna shoot you a tell tonight but forgot what server.

Trahma

Tribunal server now - whee - I am fully EP flagged !

Vaelina

wasnt there one of the new AA skills with GoD that shorten the MGB timer ?

Sempai

In order to make it last the entire 72 minutes, we would need scr3 and a 30% extended buff item. Best in game is 25% atm, Pulsing Onyx Ring which falls a few minutes short, so no way for us to do this at this time.

Just last night I saved a raid on AMY in PoFire with MGB paragon.  Clerics screwed up and go hit by mana drain AE early, so they were out of mana when AMY was still at 30%.  Paragon was just enough to get em through the end of the fight.  Go beastlords!!!

It takes me about 1 minute to buff a full raid (12 groups) with SD, and another 2 minutes to get the mana back if a bard is nearby.  Dont be lazy like clerics and shaman and MGB your only useful buff.

MGB SD saves you 3 minutes.

MGB Paragon could be the difference between winning or loosing on a raid, and saving yourself a 30 minute graveyard.

Yes , i hold AOE for paragon when i know its needed as im sure many do.
But for example when we do plane of time which takes about 5-6 hours.

i know i dont need aoe paragon saved for any of the fights other than Quarm. So when we hit phase 5 i aoe SD for last time, cause i know that by the time we kill the 4 gods in phase 5 it will be up again for Quarm.

I save aoe paragon depending on raid situation i pretty much know what fights they are needed for for my guild and which dont. For example when GoD comes out illl prob rarely with maybe exception of right at begining of raid ever aoe sd.

Well this is a hack but you can  get two, and only two, MGB's as close as 30 seconds apart if you are crafty.

  • Hit MGB
  • Wait some amount of time, say 30 min
  • Cast group buff.
    [/list:u]

What happens here is that the MGB timer starts from when you hit MGB, not when you cast the buff.  I've actually timed it so I had MGB SD right before the big fight and MGB Paragon in it.

Working as intended

Though that would require some pretty incredible foresight on your part to have two MGB'd spells within a couple of minutes of each other. I don't even know what I'm gonna be doing in 10 minutes let alone 70

With SCR3 and Shawl, MGB dominion falls a couple minutes before I can MGB it again. However, I usually tell the raid to suck it like a hoover and wait the extra couple minutes. :) I've got 'em trained to just wait now.

This of course being WHEN I can MGB dominion. Usually the Cleric Horror Overfiend of our guild won't let me use MGB for dominion so I can save it for Paragon. :(

Noxdowne Draggout

It's funny, I have never done an MGB SD yet.

I usually do individual group casts.

With Po9, SD, C5 and a mod rod what does it take five minutes or so to be at full mana again?

Heck just cast it individually and save MGB for Paragon.

I have many many times needed MGB paragon within 30 mins of starting to raid. Especially in mud ring events etc in EP.

Five minutes low on mana sure beats being without MGB paragon for over an hour.

I don't see an issue with this at all.

MGB SD is a waste.  Save it for Paragon.

MGB SD is mostly a waste of a good MGB Paragon, but i do tend to use my MGB for SD a fair bit.

Why you ask?

I'm lazy. And as Trahma can attest, theres only really a few fights for us where the balance will be tipped by a couple of well timed AE Paragons. I won't use MGB if i know that one of those fights is coming up. Most of our EP kills are over before a single Paragon can be cast and run its course anyway. Besides....i can MGB SD and then tell everyone to /tell Trahma for refreshes :P

But seriously, now that i have both Trahma and me online most nights, we can break up the buffing duties and i don't need to use MGB as much anymore for SD. Buffing 7-12 groups and then individual latecomers plus random dead people can put a dent in the mana pool for 1 beastlord.

this probably should have been posted in the spells forum
