Copper medal of War

   I am getting mixed signal about this item.  Some say the quest is broken so you can get it by clearing out the camps. Others say the quest is not broken.  If you do this with a quest what quest do you do?  If it is clearing do I just wait for the soother to spawn?  Any help will be appreciated.   
   I am doing this on the Mayong server so the upgrade with my weapon is critical--- I do not think the scouts will be much of a problem.

Starting this quest was supposed to be talking to the General to find which camp and then triggering the scout to 'escort' you to that camp.  Originally you had to buy a sphere from the merchant to hand in to the scout as well.

As for the rest, the main villian - you will need some help in the OOT (I think) and Fungus Grove (unless 65+) fights and should be able to molo the spirits, though the bear (permafrost) may have a  problem getting to the bear pit through the IGs (IIRC)...

Folllow the text.
Follow him to the Grimling Camp
Lay Waist to the Grimling Camp
Watch the Scout if your medal didn't drop....
Once Scout starts his march back, Hail him and follow dialogue...
Follow him to Grimling Camp...
Slaughter Camp (should have medal drop this time)...
....If Medal didn't drop on round 2, repeat the hail as soon as he starts walking back to fort....
...If medal doesn't drop on Round 3, wait for him to reset (i.e. let him get back to the fort)

Notes - Forgot the scouts name but its in the right up.  I have done the BST epic 5 times and only once had to let the Scout reset back at the fort.  With Merc, should be completely "Solo"able at lvl 65 w/100 aa's or less.  The Island, Permafrost, and the Swamp (with druid epic and the froggies) will be the hardest ones in personal experience. 
***Island, don't pull with DD, they summon and things get real ugly fast (clear before starting)
***Swamp, The Spin Stun is horrible but Merc should keep you up
***Permafrost, /pet hold is godsend, pull him back near ZL and it gives you ALOT more breathing room when he runs

    I did get the medal finally---  in camp 2 (following Captain) the grimings killed the named :(  in camp 1 ( following Husman) he walked out there  but he did not do anything.  I let that camp  still running, Hailed Husman again ( while at camp 1)  who sent me to the veteran who led me to the camp just west of fortress.
     It appears once you see the named pop you can not target it until about 75-80% of the mobs are down.  Need to make sure you kill it before grimlings do.
