Odd Hang up

I have recently started boxing an Enchanter, now this guy runs like a charm with all of my other toons.  But, if I load up my Beastlord, the Bst usually gets frozen in tme.  It is still semi functional from time to time but not effective at all.  I do not use EQW because I simply prefer to just run 2 instances of EQ and alt tab between them when needed.  I have tried turning the sound off, models off (to a point..both have mounts..stupid that the model has to be on to see this) I have reduced the clip to disgusting, turned off every option in the settings..etc.

:edit: by frozen I mean that I cannot alt tab to that window, it just hangs up and will not even open.

I am running a:

P4 1.? Ghz
ATI 9800 256mb
1 Gig RAM

This is driving me nuts, I would just chalk it up as normal if it was happening to all of my toons but it is not.  Any suggestions?

I don't use the same computer for my 2 boxing but was wondering if you are running both instances of EQ from the same place. Have heard of people installing EQ into two different directories and that cleared up several lag related issues.

Yes, right now they are running off the same directory.  I have never had this issue in the past though doing the exact same thing.  All of them use the same UI as well.

I have never successfully ran two instance of EQ from the same folder, they always get hang up somewhere.  Try duplicating the entire EQ folder and run the 2 instances from the 2 different EQ folder.

Many people used to have problems with running two copies from the same dir and also running two copies with the sony windowed system. Many used one copy of eq normally and another with eqw. Dunno if those problems still exist or not, I usually just use EQW for 1 or 2 copies anyway.

I have seen where some people have problems with the custom UI's.  Try running a standard UI and see if that helps.
